Actually, while it does look very similar to the LeClerc, it's based on the OTOBREDA OF-40 MBT. It actually has more in common with the Leopard 1 than the LeClerc and shares a lot of components with the Leopard. Note the 7 road wheels versus the LeClerc's 6.
NATO cans are great, I like them a lot better than the traditional US versions. They are much easier to pour and generally seal a lot better. They also tend to be a lot cheaper. Just avoid certain French versions as they use an odd spout that is impossible to find. For those who may argue...
Not used, NOS. A part still in the Mopar box can bring a high price if it's rare and desirable. Of course what it fits on has a lot to do with that and since there is absolutely no collector market for '72-'93 Dodge trucks aside from the Lil'Red, most parts don't really have that large of a...
You probably couldn't get that from them all day long but at the right place at the right time, say when someone restoring a Lil' Red Express Truck is needing one, you might be surprised what they will bring.
Other fender sources (both cheaper than $180):

Dodge D/W series fenders are all the same from '72-'80. There are replacements available but most are not factory quality. Used fenders will be hard to find in any usable condition in the rust belt.
What? No NV4500 option? I think a 5 speed Cummins HMMWV would be pretty cool. 8-)
No matter what you choose it's a very cool project Chris. Good luck with it!
Interesting build. I bob'd my old '74 W100 years ago for a wheeling rig. I did it the easy way and just removed the tail panel at the seam and then cut 14" out of the bed, 12" out of the frame and slid it up and welded it back.
**** sure if I ever find one sitting around I'm sure as **** not going to post it up here. These people have probably driven poor Frodo nuts and I don't think I would enjoy the same.
Considering the number of these tanks that are actually for sale on various sites and classified ads you would think most people would either know that they couldn't afford it if it was for sale or if they have that kind of cash on hand, they would just go annoy someone who actually is selling...
The tube toward the front of the 727 is the pressure tube. From the factory it should go to the passenger side of the radiator. The fluid returns from the driver side of the radiator and goes back int eh transmission from the rearmost port.
That sort of thinking doesn't fly well with city bureaucrats. Inevitably they will say that it only took one day to bring it in, so 5 days should be plenty of time to take it somewhere else. They don't care where it goes or how it gets there, they just want it gone.
I take you mean he swapped the knuckles and hubs? This is somewhat common for people not wanting to deal with the wheel bearing design on '75-'79 full time 4WD Dodge trucks, though swapping to '80-'93 Dodge W250 hubs is much more common and generally cheaper.
I know this is a 7 year thread...
