Adam don't worry about bringing the 818, Chris had a death in the family and wasn't able to make it and I thought it was next weekend anyway, so I won't be there either.
By the way Patracy my comment was just meant as a LOL about college students. I agree that I have known of plenty of those "I have an MBA from X school so I am smarter than you " type people and I agree many of them if not most are worthless. I spent most of my time at Tech in the Textiles labs...
Reminds me of a time we were getting our a$$es handed to us in football by some random team and the chant started "we'll get better jobs" "we'll get better jobs" from the student section LOL. Gotta Love college students.
Wish I could make it! From NC is a long drive in my deuce. Enjoy your "wreck parade" LOL . Biggest thing I miss about Tech is the wreck parade and the fixed body parade. I got out in 94. I will give my buddy in Powder Springs a heads up as he has a SWEEET 65 Mustang he could enter.
Wait until you decide....Yeah if I buy a 5 ton I can haul my generators and pickup other stuff easily.... It happens! Then your wife asks you why do you have 4 trucks? Uhh... BECAUSE THEY'RE AWESOME! Welcome to the addiction from another NC guy. Oh check out the NC rally in or near Uhwarrie.
I would say go for it. I see many of these going for 3-7 k and some of the 3 K vehicles have rust issues. I guess it also depends on your skill with metal shears, a grinder and a welder. Some sweat equity should pay you off hansomely.
Turn on everything then get a clamp on amp meter and read the actual load off of your main lines (inside the power box or get your electrician to do it if you are not familiar). I e clamp the meter around each cable to get your amp draw. This is the most accurate way to tell max load. Or you...
Wow this is so cool. When I did my floor in the box (mine was rotten too) I put in boxes underneath in between the frame rails for storage. Works great as long as you don't cover the hinged lids!
Ok Ebay has tons of examples.
I guess to be REALLY technical you aren't REALLY TRANSFORMING as much as you are stepping the voltage down to 12v from 24v. But I have no idea what you would call it. To step voltage up it was called a buck and boost transformer.
I connected to my 24v system and transformed down to 12v (for 12v accesories and then pulled off that) that way the load is balanced across the batteries. I agree you should go minimum 1000 watts. I always oversize my cables also for better DC load carry. In one deuce I put in backup batteries...
gasoline on a rag over the air intake actually works really well and it isnt as big of a hit as either. Just make sure it is damp NOT soaked. The fumes should help ignite any fuel that is being injected. If it doesn't work then you have no fuel being injected or you aren't turning the crank fast...
Well apples and oranges. Flat towing a m35 behind a 1 ton (without brakes on the m35) is NOT THE SAME THING as towing on a trailer with brakes and a center bed mount that distributes the load evenly on all 4 or 6 tires of the tow vehicle. in a panic stop the load shifts forward and the trailer...
