I meant rub on the other half of the dual, not the tire on the other axle in front or behind. Look at the duals on a deuce with 1100's and compare how close the tires are to touching compared to a deuce with 900's.
Dual 1100's do come close to rubbing the tire next to them on a deuce. If you run around empty or with a light load, this is not a problem. With a heavy load, the tires could bulge enough to touch each other. This can lead to a lot of heat and possibly a blow out or tire fire.

I was thinking a longer 12 foot camper would be the way to go since it fills up the whole bed, but I like how you have room at the rear of the camper for a dirt bike etc.
Looking good. You should measure your overall height before hitting a low tree branch...
If you do the trip in early May, you could end up in that small window between when the snow melts and the mosquitos come out. My dad was in Anchorage during the Korean War. He arrived in May and the plants were turning green, but the snowshoe rabbits were still white. In a couple of weeks...
:grd: We had to drop the tranny on a deuce in the field (really, a dirt field) once. We used a 4 x 4 beam between the windshield frame and the rear of the cab and lowered the tranny onto a sheet of plywood using a come-a-long.
To get the transmission out from under the truck, two of us dragged...
There's the understatement of the day! The brakes and wheel bearings will need inspection and service too at a minimum.
Then you can decide if it was worth it.
The smoke is the reason the turbo was added. The non-turbo M35A2 I used to own was nice and quiet, but it was slightly low on power (tired engine) and left a smoke trail in its wake. It was no louder than my dad's M37 on the highway.
Having had a ruptured ear drum, I can only imagine how your ear felt.
I had a friend drip gasoline in his ear while removing a VW engine. He was in excruciating pain and had to be taken to the ER. They gave him some pain meds and flushed his ear canal with a mineral oil solution.
