My CUCV spin on fuel filter mod

Either disconnect them and do nothing, or use one of the spin-on filter bases that has options for things like the heater and water-in-fuel sensor. I don't think I've seen any spin-on setups that have the fuel pressure sensor, but you don't need it anyway as its not used for anything but the...

CUCV short on, what is this thing? Please see pics

Doesn't look like there is any power being supplied to it though, unless I'm just missing the wire...

What is the deal with GL removing data plates?

Many of the M101 trailers out of Barstow's recent auctions have been missing their data plates.

    battery problem

Back to part of the original question, my guess would be that the disconnected wire is probably for the tach output for the STE/ICE test port under the dash. The caddy alt probably doesn't have a connection for it.

    rear window alignment

I'd say one of the arms jumped a tooth on the gear. Not sure how to get it back in time with the other one.

New here, thinking about buying an M1009

I'd suggest calling Hundy, as I'd heard he was moving away from trucks. I'm not sure if that includes the CUCVs, or just the larger trucks though. I know they show up on CL every now and then.

New here, thinking about buying an M1009

I'm not sure what you mean by that... I bought my M1009 from GL, picked it up in AZ, drove it to CA. Requested the SF97 from GL, took the truck and the paperwork to DMV, walked out with plates. No issues.

So, we are now saying it is part #10 from the diagram? :-D

    30 amp headlight fuse

I installed the harness as you mentioned, in front of the front battery, and ran it similar to that shown in your picture. I found that the driver's side ground worked just fine by using the mounting bolt for the horn noise capacitor. In the process, I found another ground wire hanging loose...

    30 amp headlight fuse

LMC has a decent headlight harness kit that does the same thing Corelokt mentioned. It is not made with the best components in the world, but it gets the job done and allows you to keep the factory harness intact.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Thanks for the info on this! It wasn't all that hard, really, well, except for recovering the bolts that fell down into the stake pockets!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Got it a playmate! No, not that kind... Picked up the M101A3 from Camp Pendleton this morning. It seems to be in pretty good shape overall, and the hubs were nice and cool after about 200 miles. The tires are not new, but look good, and should last a little while. The tarp looks to be in...

    Wiper electric trouble

There is a "park switch" on the wiper motor assembly. Disconnect the two plugs on the pump portion of the assembly, pull off the cover and clean all the contacts. I found a broken wire inside mine, and after fixing that and cleaning the motors' ground strap, it works much better. Oh, and you may...

    Brake proportional 'valve' questions

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the M1009 has the weight proportional valve on the rear that adjusts the rear brakes based on load weight like the other CUCVs. Looking at the -34p TM, figure 119, most of those parts, including the valve, don't list the "209" UOC, but seem to...

    Search Tutorial?

On the search question, I like to use google or DuckDuckGo, something like this: CUCV m1008 shocks site:steelsoldiers.com I put CUCV to try and limit the results to the specific forum, though it doesn't always work. On the shock question, when I replaced them on my M1009, I used RS5000's that...
