Boyce Equipment has real nice M1008,and 1028 rear spring pack takeoffs @ a reasonable price. I bought a rear to replace a broken main leaf on my 1028 while installing an ORD 4" lift. It was in almost new condition.[thumbzup]
CUCV electric- no order received
I have not yet received my order which I paid for on April 18th.Sent E-mail to inquire- no response. This also happened with a previous order which I received a few weeks later after a few finally answered e-mails.Seems like bad luck with USPS. I've always had...
I have a problem that surfaces only on hot days in the mountains.:( My engine stalls at low speeds, then after sitting for a while will start up and run perfectly. I've replaced the fuel filter and lift pump .Last time it occured,I pulled the pink wire to the IP and turned ignition to on and...
I followed the same basic procedure regarding 12V bypass and GP replacement including connector tips.I had no problems. All GP's came out in 1 piece. They were Wellmans.I tested all for continuity, and they were fine. Some were a bit melted at the tip,but otherwise OK.I replaced all with AC60's and...
I've owned and used with great success a Lincoln SP250.It uses Argon/CO2 as a shielding gas and is about 15 years old.It will weld aluminum, stainless, mild steel.I agree with the versatility of a 220V machine.I have a 65' extension cord for limited mobility.I would like to have both 110 and...
Shankem-Deep,
Many thanks for the detailed pics and material list for a great design. After studying this thread,I am going to fab up a set myself.I am a old metalman by trade, and after visualizing the paper templates for the angles of cuts required,I'm gonna give it a go.Thanks again for...
Nice looking truck!I have the same ORD lift on my 1028 with 16.5 x8 1/4 vintage chevy rims with 37" surplus humvee radials.ORD is a great company to deal with, and patient with customer advice and inquiries.:D
I say yes provided you have a decent set of tools, know how to use them, have a lot of patience, and a knowledgeable support staff(Steel soldiers).If yes to all of the above,go for it.The CUCV is a great truck with many parts still readily available.Start your project with a sound ,rust...
I'd look at a m1101 close up first.I almost bought one until I inspected it first hand. They are LARGE to tow behind a CUCV.They are extremely well built and have surge brakes, but I personally prefer the m101 series to pull behind a cucv and at minimum a 1008 at that with 456's.A 1009 with stock...
If the replacement 6.2 is a good runner I say go for it.3500$ total in a CUCV is not bad.I paid 3000$ for my 1028 BEFORE I put any upgrades into it.They are great trucks for their designed purpose.I love mine.Off road it is bullet proof.I use it primarily to get to my country property(great...
