Also look for just about any Deuce in the UK. I don't know why, but every third Deuce over there is painted in Vietnam era markings. That or odd WWII markings, lol.
RE: demil
Or buy the M75 APC that was gogint o be scrapped a few weeks back.
I seriously doubt that much armor will make it out of the DRMO now. There isn't a lot of stuff in inventory that doesn't have some sort of composite armor that is classified in some way so it will be long, long time...
So if a guy makes a mouse trap that is better than the other guys mouse trap and they advertise their product as being better in some way and state how the prospective buyer would be better off with the better product, then they are disparaging the other manufacturers product? That's simple...
Aren't we getting a little desperate in this to even question production runs? Besides, I would think that would be something that AVM would have mentioned when Gerhard contacted them about the seal issue.

Geez, http://www.saturnsurplus.com/lights/lights.htm
Scroll down about 3/4 of the way. Genuine Mopar military surplus lenses are $12 and the whole assemblies are $28.50. The lens is cancelled though Mopar, so this is about the only cheap source. The Mopar price for the lens...
Just a curiosity question. Is there something in CUCVs that prevents the radio from being installed in the dash in the factory location for civilian trucks. Also, be careful with those enclosures. A buddy of mine had his mounted to the roof in his Dodge and kept burning up head units. Seems...
No, it's about customer satisfaction. You support JT, and rightly so, but how would you feel if you called a place of business with an issue with a product they sold or manufactured and he blew you off? Would you do business with them again? I personally think the hub comparison is also a...
No specific use. You can't really say that because a vehicle is painted a odd color what it was used for. As was said before, it's up to the commander and it's hard to tell what need for the color he had in mind. White can be used in the extreme North, but I can't recall seeing any MVs...
Perfectly and I agree with your statement about vendors but I would support both if I could since I like both hobbies. Thank you for indulging my curiosity without taking offense.
I Googled the letters on the bumper and it comes up several times as a Army Aviation Support Facility in St. Paul. I also came up with several references to that being a National Guard post on the grounds of an airport, so I would assume it is some sort of MP or security vehicle and was painted...
Nothing personal Dabtl, and I mean no offense or implication, but I( and I'm sure many others) have got to wonder why exactly you so fervently defend the AVM hub? I'm not going to comment anymore on which is better or worse, but I am curious why you are so taken with them. Is it because you...
Before I type this, I will say that my experience with lockers and tire chains is with 4WD civilian trucks rock crawling or in mud and not MVs, but I think the basics are pretty much the same, but the application can sometimes be very different. With that said, I think they are both useful...
Honestly, until this thread was posted, I had never heard of AVM hubs except in Europe for vehicles like Land Rovers. Ouverson is a very popular name with the rock crawling crowd, which is more my speed.
RE: I
I think if you talk to most of the MV gurus here, like David Doyle, that you will find that going with the info that is on the truck is the better bet. As for the paperwork, it's probably not worth the effort to try deal with the local DMV to get any of that changed in the long run so as...
RE: Re: AVM vs. Ouverson hubs
I understand what you are saying, Don, but I do disagree with the statement that AVM in the US "is" John Tennis. I understand that he is the US distributor for the product, but he is not the manufacturer and alleged design issues with the product do not in any way...
