RE: Google Ad
I'm sure that will draw in some cash. Lots of sites are doing it and I for one have no problem whatsoever in SS supporting itself in some way for all the free stuff we enjoy. I would help out with cash myself if I could. The only thing I would ask is not to go for the bit where...
I wonder how much payload would be available with a full load of water? I would think that would be pretty heavy in itself and may be why there isn't a trailer in common use with the firetruck. I could be wrong, but it sort of makes sense to me.
Welcome. Nice to have another Deuce in the area. If you are wanting to sell you might want to put up a ad in the classifieds. Hell, I might know someone interested in it. I'll send you a PM.
RE: Re: RE: FCC drops morse code requirement for HF ham radi
While the code requirement has kept me from getting my license, I hate to see it go. I think that the guys who do the emergency volunteer work with radios would hate to see it go also. It is a great back up and as stated can be...
I'd have the Alternator checked just to be sure. Normally you can get away with replacing the regulator, but just to be sure I'd test the alt also. I've had a few do the over charging thing even as far as to blow the vent caps off the battery. 140 amp alternator was charging wide open at 215...
If I remember correctly, in my conversations with Tom on his Expansible Van 8x8, he said his was a handful to keep in the road. When I asked about the 45 MPH top speed he said that was all it had in it, and I really wouldn't want to go any faster since it was sort of hard to drive.
You could try the Krylon Camouflage Paint System:

Click on "Color, MSDS, & Product Offering" for colors and part numbers. Walmart and either Home Depot or Lowes carry them. I have...
You can bypass the Amp gauge by taking the large red and black wires off it and connecting them together. Yes, you can do that, even though one is red and one is black. The charging system will then act normally but the gauge will be dead. In my experience, it sounds like you have either a...
Interesting. A lot of differences in that as compared to the truck Easter Surplus has on their site. That bed looks like a M211'ish style with the large wheel openings.
RE: Some Great Responses...
Hmmm, I'd like to have one of those with the 4 speed and part time 4WD. I never bought a M880 series because of the auto, full time 4WD and the unit bearing deal.
On the D70, if it's not a closed knuckle, it's a D60. I don't think dodge made an open knuckle 70...
Looks civilian to me, again probably a local Fire and Rescue truck. It could have been military, and if so it should have the data plates. Definitely not one of the normal M880 series, a bit too early I think and plus it's a manual with a part time transfer case. Should be a divorced case...

I'd upload the pics but they are huge and I'm at work with no way to resize them.
As far as the orange tip deal, it is a valid law that could be prosecuted if desired but what we have encountered so far is basically don't cause trouble with it and you won't get in any trouble over it. We have called our large games that require a lot of travel as "simulations" and...
