Topic Split, was HMMWV now Replica Guns

Yup, that's right Kenny. That includes the SR-16 itself, the M100 Spring, Magnesium receiver, flat top rail riser, Aimpoint replica, Lithium battery powered tac light, silencer, 3, 300 round hi-cap magazines, two battery packs, charger/discharger and a few other things I am forgetting. This...

Has anyone ever bobbed a 5-ton??

Eastern Surplus will sell them like that or convert one you own. I don't think I have seen pics of one with duals though, only singles.

    Oshkosh Chassis on Ebay

Is it just me or is the frame on that Deuce bent? Fire took the temper out of the frame, I assume?

    Hi! New owner...I'm in love...

Ha ha, you old bunch of hounds! I've never seen anyone get this sort of welcome the whole time I have been on SteelSoldiers. One girl comes around and you all go nuts, lol! Oh well, I guess more females in the hobby would be interesting so they should be welcomed. With that in mind...

    Hydraulic Dump Bed and Winch?

Why not rig up some sort of A frame to lift the shelter to the level of the bed when tilted? Something similar to the A frame rig available for Deuces and the rigs illustrated in the recovery manuals. Might be easier to manage and stow and would be useful for loading all sorts of things and it...

Topic Split, was HMMWV now Replica Guns

Re: RE: Hmmwv Kenny, here's a few pics of my Tokyo Marui SR-16, which is, I believe, an exact replica of a Knights Armament Stoner SR-15. RIS rail system, flat top receiver, vertical forward grip, Aimpoint red dot scope replica, 3 point sling, silencer and custom camouflage paint. All told I...

    XM757 steering

Good point on the comparison, but it might be closer than you think. Back in the mid 90's just about all the chassis component companies (Moog, TRW, etc.) went from the traditional all steel design for this type of joint to a plastic cup joint that was supposed to get rid of all the noise and...

    XM757 steering

There aren't any ball joints that I am aware of, or tie rod ends, etc. that turn with no resistance. I'd say they all have quite a bit really. Ball joints for car and light truck applications are almost impossible to turn by hand, tie rod ends are generally only slightly better. Why not pick...

Seeking volunteers to help with -725 project. Free beer

Where are you at in Virginia anyway? There are quite a few of us 715 owners around. I'm over here in the western edge of I-64, Martin is in Roanoke, Elliot is up near DC or something and there are a few more I have not met personally. It's hard to tell how many there are close to you that own...

    Chrysler Leasing and M37s

I feel sure the military owned them, but Dodge was known to make deals with local governments on a number of what are considered fleet vehicles.

    Three AMAZING Armoured Tactical Vehicles

Yeah, the Cougar and Buffalo are interesting vehicles for sure. Made for EOD units to investigate and dispose of IEDs and such. There's been some stuff on them in the news. The Cheetah is new and I haven't seen much on it yet. It may be a bid vehicle or just not have a contract yet.

    Expandable body worth $800.00???

Grrr, I still want one of those Deuces with the expansible van body! One of these days...

    IAN's recent M715 photos

OD for sure, this is a military vehicle site after all, lol. I'm going with the newer style 383 green that is in current use, but I like the older, more brown OD these trucks came with stock. Here's a pic of my 715 with it's sort of restored tail end and newer M35 lamps:

I think perhaps you are confused as to which case the NP208 is. It is a light duty, aluminum, chain driven, part time case that was replaced by the NP241. It was used in half ton and light duty 3/4 tons only. I have never seen a 1 ton GM, Ford or otherwise with a NP203.

    I made it!!!!!

Interesting. I dontt think I have ever seen one of those with the headlamps mounted in the lower position. Or maybe I'm just looking at it weird. Nice truck!

    IAN's recent M715 photos

RE: IAN I Like the lights, but I'm a big fan of quality auxilliary lighting anyway. I don't like where they are mounted as I think the military lamps are part of the M715s character, so I'd move them down on the bumper. I'd probably also chop the bumper back down and return it to stock. As...

Yeah Kenny, the 6.2 in a Dodge is a major no no. Any self respecting Mopar would spit that boat anchor out in a hurry, lol! As for the 700R4, I'm sure it can be built to handle a lot of HP, but the fact remains that it is an automatic and to handle that kind of power it has to slip to keep...
