In my opinion, unless you are going to store your Deuce indoors, get a vinyl cover. Canvas just takes too much of a beating from the sun and rain. When I got my cab top for my M715, I bought a new mil-spec vinyl one because the new canvas smells like a morgue, old canvas has already stretched...
We have that kind of HOA crap around here. Luckily I don't have it in my neighborhood, and so far the old farts in the neighborhood haven't had much luck getting anyone else to want to make one. If it were me, I'd ask the HOA about putting up a really tall fence. Something tasteful, but would...
Chris, how's it running now? I know when we dropped it off we had a little trouble getting her fired back up. Did it just need a little tinkering, or was it just unfamiliarity with the 'Mog, or a little of both? Just curious...
I agree that it sounds like a bad fuel pump, and that is not real bad to check, but I'd run a compression test to be sure it's not a ring problem. The pumps are available through several places like Memphis Equip. The civilian version of the dual action pump can be had at Napa also, but I...
Yeah the new Google tool bar has a spell checker that works for forums. Just type your post normally, then before you submit it to the forum, click the spell checker button and it'll look for errors. If it finds one, the word will turn red. Click on the word and it'll give you several choices...
Bjorn, one of the guys posted this up on the M715 Zone:

Anything on there worth looking at? The stuff seems expensive, but I thought it was interesting.
The M-880 series trucks are as as you stated except for the transfer case. They should all have a NP 203 full time transfer case. I have never owned a M-880 series, but I have owned (and still do) many 1970's era Dodge trucks. The military Dodges are basically 3/4 ton civilian trucks with a...
The only bad thing about the idea is that the information would be time sensitive, and yet would be here in on the forum for a long, long time. The values seems to fluctuate pretty wildly, and I believe location has a lot to do with it also. Trucks that once sold for $1200 are now selling for...
I'm in. Junkyard Wars is the coolest. Monster Garage is a piece of crap and it's all staged anyway. Even Jesse James is ticked off at it, and doesn't take any of it seriously anymore. I'm not bad at fabrication myself. I'm kinda know around here by my friends as the guy who can make...
Nah, not a hater, just have to give any fans of the big dog some crap every so often. We underdogs actually like being the underdog. Mopar fans are the best of the bunch, since we can relate to both Ford and Chevy guys. We relate to the Ford bunch because we don't like Chevy's, and we relate...
I'm not sure there was a seperate 5 ton model. I can find about 10 different 2.5 ton models of fuel and water tankers, but no 5 tons at all. Plenty of trailer tankers, and then it jumps to the GOER and HEMMT models.
According to : http://www.adieselengine.com/
The 6-71 Detroit is 238 HP and a rated RPM of 2100. It also weighs 2200 lbs.
The Cummins 220, I think is a NH-220. Appearently it's an old engine, and info is hard to find. I found one bit of info that its 150HP at 1800 RPM and it's a 4 cyl...
When you guys get it to Virginia, I might have to pop down and help wrench on it a bit, if you don't mind. Maybe when you find the engine and trans I can come help with the install. I'd love the chance to get dirty working on something that cool. You guys let me know if you need any help.
I kind of thought it might be something like that. The M-715 uses a bracket on it's hubs for the same reason. You take the pins out of the shackles on the front and rear, and then put them on the hub brackets for overhead lifting.
According to Jane's the Specters are the older version. Here's what Jane's has to say about them:
The Vietnam era AC-47s were also known as "Spooky" and "Puff The Magic Dragon", but Kenny is correct in thinking the AC-130U is called a Spooky by the military.
Ok, only thing I can find is the spec page for it. It's a waterproof 24V, 12,000lb winch limited to 10,500lbs. It is a Commercial/Industrial Series 12 winch, part number 64402. The spec PDF is there, but no parts list. I'd try contacting Warn by phone and see what you can scare up. Here's a...
