Hey Tony, no problem, lol. I wasn't offended or anything, just thought I'd mention it before one of the mods jumped you, lol. Some people like to type in all caps all the time for some reason but after looking back on your post, I can see that you simply had the caps lock on since you post...
I would do the rank thing, just because it's a nice touch, and it does generate more conversation. It can lead to "post whoring", but I think everyone here seems to be of a more mature sort, and I doubt that will be a problem. I would suggest spreading the ranks out a bit. Put at least 75-150...
I wonder how hard it would be it put in a paddle latch and lock, like on a semi? Seems that if the door is thick enough to allow for the mechanism, that retrofitting one on shouldn't be too difficult. Might not look military, but it would be neater than a padlock. Just a thought.
Optimas are a sealed cell battery that is popular with the off road crowd. They can be mounted in just about any configuration, and have a good power output for their size. They are available at just about any racing parts mail order place like Summit Racing or Jeg's, as well as just about any...
Awesome pics! Thanks also for the larger image for my desktop, looks much better non-pixel-ated. Getting suck is a PITA, but I've had some great times with friends trying crazy things to get unstuck. Probably wouldn't have missed it for the world, looking back on it. I can't wait to get a 6x6!
Hmmm, no offense, but you might want to fix that. Split it into two images with the Steel Soldiers emblem linked to the forum, and the "Sponsored by Saturn Surp." linked to the sponsor. They might be real happy that the most obvious banner inage isn't linked to them, lol. just a thought.
Great pics guys. Again, I really need a Deuce! Monster Man, I hope you don't mind, but I swiped your first pic for a desktop background. That's a nice truck!
Thanks, Opie. We actually have our own DMV here in little smelly ol' Covington, which is probably half my problem. Dumb as a stump comes to mind frequently. As for the license plate lame, the only think I can suggest is get a normal 12V one and swap in a 24V bulb. Most license lamps use a...
Nice job, Opie. I got off the phone with the DMV "Special Agent" again today. Still nothing. He agreed that DMV know diddly squat about MVs and that I should just run the VIN with the digit added. I think I'm going to go tag it next week and just hope I don't run into trouble if I sell it or...
Ouch! That's an Israeli Merkava MBT, looks like a Mk2. I'd hate to see what rank that Commander got busted down to. He's probably now working a checkpoint in Gaza, lol.
Tracking them down as in where the truck came from, or what the numbers mean? Here's a article on Vietnam era trucks that has some info on the markings, might still apply to the newer ones I think: http://www.collect.com/interest/article.asp?Pub=MV&id=9591
Scroll down to the heading "Unit...
Opie, all I can say is good luck in dealing with the VA DMV with a military vehicle. I once asked about getting a M791 expandible van 8X8 and got told it was commercial, and then had to call the Federal DOT to see if it was legal to drive. The guy at DOT told me the people at DMV in Richmond...
Yeah, I've known about the H4 style for a while, but I'm trying to come up with a stock style sealed beam, but in halogen. Should be a lot cheaper too if they're out there.
