FYI, none of the other trucks in the vid are for sale anytime soon :-( Other than some rust in the door sills its in pretty damn nice shape. Runs like a champ.
I'm posting this mostly for JT but thought you all might enjoy this. Did the preflight on the 818 today as pickup is a go for wed. Has been sitting a month or so according to the site guy but who really knows if they are telling the truth. Tossed in 2 new NAPA batts at 810 CCA each and check out...
Hmmm, mine hold the truck just fine if i'm sitting but does nothing like that when i go to move. Just replaced the cable and adjusted it. Guess i better screw with it some more.
Hey, they are his trucks. He can do as he likes with them. We are no better than the stupid govt if we start telling others what they can and can't do with their personal property on their own land. I want to see the classic MV's saved too but this is an interesting and fairly harmless endeavor.
Ok, you are new but PLEASE use the search function. Thus far all your questions have been basic enough that search will cover it. Welcome to the site by the way. :-D
I like that light mod. That goes on the to do list. The MOST important warning light mod for me will be installing the E brake idiot light. Don't know how often i drive off with it still on
But the roll issue is gonna be an issue. Ya see there is no roll bar and the most solid thing that gonna stop the crunching effects is the engine. And thats roughly seat level. So yeah, rolling a deuce is not a good idea.
My fav line about safety in a deuce...... "The other vehicle is my crumple zone." Thinking about making a bumper sticker to that effect. Hee hee. You would have to hit one big tree to stop a deuce very quickly.
Hmmm, i don't think there is. At least not a standard stocked item. But that sounds like a great project to waste some time on while i'm at work next week. Biggest issue i'm seeing thus far is the grade of the castle nuts. I can find them in 1/2 -20 no sweat but its grade 2 stuff. I wouldn't...
NOOOOOOOOOO. DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT use the nylock nuts in this application. You need to use the all metal deformed thread top locks. Either grade C or grade 9 will work. Both are standard stock at any fastenal location. Size is 1/2 -20. They are really only supposed to be used one time so just...
YUK, I rebuild a wisconsin VH4D last winter that looked similar. Lower half of the piston grenaded upper half cracked and stuck in the top of the bore. Didn't have any nasty gouges like that in the cly though. Looks like it ran like that for a little bit. Sounded fine when running??? Just think...
Nope, sorry Nk. Anyone that wants pics will have to either contact the seller or PHD as the seller sent him some pics. Its at least an hour and a half south of me otherwise i would go get you some pics of it.
