Thanks for the good input. Mike I was thinking of using the 923 that Dale wants. I still have a few repairs to do though. I may just take the duramax up and tow the 916 out of the gate so I can do some wrenching if I have to. Still brainstorming or lack of brainstorming.

I went big and won a M916. It is listed as "wont start". Plan is to take the 923 and 4 charged batts+misc recovery items. If I can get the 916 started and checked out I plan on flat towing the 923 back with the 916. If I can not get the 916 started I plan on flat towing the 916 with the 923...

I don't think CAT will have that hose, their only part of the truck is just the engine and then some of parts are not even CAT (ie. alternator). No answer on the hose source.

Thats a good point, you do put the 3053 back in, how will the engine act at that lower RPM say at 60MPH.

Ok I dont know where I got the 3053 being 1:1. So my final conclusion (that was summed up in about post number 2) is that getting the 3053 back in with the same tires or bigger would give you a better top end without the OD kit, or would you still need toms OD kit?

Ok Ive read this thread over a few times. I'm a simple construction worker, so please keep this in mine. The A2 spicer has a 5th gear ration of 1:1. The A3 4th gear has a ratio of 1:1. The A3 has bigger tires, so why doesn't it go faster? Is it the axles that are geared differently?

Well I got confirmation of the win on the 916, now the EUC and fun begins. I'm going to make a trip next week to see if I can get it started. How much work will G/L let you do on the JBLM lot? Going to bring 4 charged 6tl, tools, ether, a prayer.....

I bid on the 3) A3 wheels but went way to high, and the 16.00 went to high.......well the 916......:D BTW, 2 lots of the goodyear 16.00 3 each had a michelin sitting on the bottom.

Well on the conceal carry, you are not supposed to. On my last trip I forgot about my 9mm, I didn't have any place to stow it while I was picking up my item. I left it in my bag and would declare it if asked but they didn't search anything on my truck and I didn't say anything. Got my stuff...

Well JBLM is a "special place" look at what the 395 are at, you can buy them cheaper from a private dealer and they still have a day to go. Those m1101 just went for $2500 each the other day on GSA, I don't know who is bidding on this stuff but for that price ill sell them some of my private...

Actually they do have a huge war stock. The goberment had a rare good idea, sell the trucks to the public and when we need them back for WW3....ok just a theory. Hang in there a be patient, you will find your truck.

I can help If I win what I want this thursday. I have a hunch that we are bidding on the same items though, along with everyone else in the PNW. :D
