I was thinking about my A3 having an Alison automatic, with the PTO ring and began to wonder if anyone has installed an Allison auto transmission in an older deuce, the A1 or A2 years.
Is the tranny mount on the multi-fuel an "SAE" flange and flywheel? Is the bolt pattern on the crank...
Here is the start of a single axle trailer to use with my pickup with a light load or the deuce 4x4 with a heavier load. Pictures show the axle with bolster wheels.
I found 2.5 x 5 rectangle tube, maybe 11 ga, for the main rails. The frame will be 40" wide, which is 6" wider than the M105...
What is the distance that the frame is extended down when using m105 springs and mounts when bobbing or making 4x4. You can see a bolt at about 4" from the bottom on the 5" trailer frame.
I dont want want the mount bolt in line with the frame flange, so could go 5" or 3". I want to sit...
Well like everything else, just using it is not enough, I have to modify it. It's my MO....create more work for myself.
I'm thinking of a rear tail addition that folds down for ramps, but only comes to deck height and has a solid block to the frame + air bags. When up, it is 10' of deck...
I purchased an LMTV hydraulic winch on line (edit...it's a Grove Crane winch). It appears to have places where air lines may have been removed that go into what I thought was a gear box. Now I think that part is a brake or some type of clutch.
It's physical size is smaller than I expected...
I want A3 singles with the dish out on an M105. Someone made a comment that this hub could be "flipped" just like the deuce. I can't locate the comment now or the thread that it was in. At the time I think I just make a "thanks", but now I want to confirm.
Looking once more at the hub...
Just purchased an LMTV hydraulic winch and am looking for ideas for a pipe crane using the front winch for the main line, on an M35A3. I think they are rated at 11,000.
Overloading the front springs may be an issue.
I may have to make top boom supports go clear behind the cab and having a...
Finished and using my slave cable. It's 22' with red and black 2/0 and put in a tig torch jacket. Mine was the cheap denham and that was a lot of wire to pull through it. Next time I would get the zipper type cover.
Found the pump for my M35A3 PTO. It's not too pretty and I have the wrong flange kit, but the price was right, I already had it. It's the control pump off a hydrostatic transmission, with a pressure compensator. The number on the tag seems to be the entire hydrostatic pump, so I have some...
Here is the Geithner s-788 shelter that I would like to mount on my modified M1101. I want to add a place for four wheeler or golf cart onto the trailer in front of the shelter. So a new frame will attach to the axle, and to the aluminum frame. Comments please.
Can anyone clear up what the part numbers and sources are for front shocks on a 5 ton, M939 series? I have a terrible bounce and am replacing 14.00 Goodyears with 395 XZL on my M929A2 and would like to put new shocks on, but am not clear on part numbers from a search.
I have my M1061 attached to my M931A2 tractor and thought about changing the pintle connection to a 5th wheel, then building a dump bed that goes forward of the trunion.
I need to haul a large amount of black muck dirt to a retail location on the other side of my farm and go out on the road...
Having about worn out welcome on the "what have you done to your deuce today" thread (https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?67703-What-did-you-do-to-your-deuce-this-week/page728), I am starting a new LED thread.
This thread is on LEDs that use strips and a dimmer controller like...
It will fit, I have an S-788.
Here is what I'm doing to make the S-788 to fit an 1101. Note the trailer has about 4" of sides above the floor. That's the wheel well depth on the S-788, which I think is about the same on the S-250. In the case of the S-788, it's also longer, so mine will...
Making my deuce bed into a dump trailer to pull behind the M35A3 or M929A2. I have an M35A3 donor that I've once again decided to go 4x4 and use an M105 bed on it, making it a crew cab.... so I have a nice bed to start with and nothing wasted.
Here is one axle staged under the frame and next...
Bought this and am wondering what the pull out tubes are for. They appear to be a stabilizer of some type. Also, what are all the other stowage places for? They look like a great place for some custom made slide in tool boxes.
Is there a tire/rim configuration (size and weight capacity) to dual up the rear of an M929A2 and have the same rev/mile as on the fronts ?
With a load, I want more stability than the 14.00 is giving me.
I have 4 flat spots on the rear Goodyear's that makes things even worse.
