I seen one of these up close, I was told that Canada uses these trucks in their military, some people think they are trying to break back into the American Military Market.
The thing that stuck out the most for me was the reversable red cross....
In addition to the above reasons... I heard that it was because of DOT regulations of the shifting pattern on the HMMWVs auto transmission not being the same as all the other civ. cars and trucks. ( P R N D 1 2 )
I know this sounds silly, witch is all the more reason to believe that it is true.
For 8K you should not have ANY troubles for a long, long time. I hope they are good enough to make things right with your buddy.

while we are on the subject, what purpose does the sloped cab roof serve on the m886 ? was there a special reason for this ?
you can still get them at the local junkyard, just ask for a 1975 - 1977 w-200,
of course this does not include the blackout wireing, just the orginal harness
did you guys notice the cab lights on the truck ? just wondering if there were any other proto-type MVs with them ? ( or any MVs at all with them for that matter )

The tip you got on the turn signal switch is true. and is probiably the orginal cause for all the stuff you got going on to the rear of the truck... But with all the other problems you got with the fuse block and head lights it is hard telling what ALL is wrong. one thing is for sure, unless...

Where would you take a humvee to get damage like that repaired ? I bet it would be a first for your local body shop.
