The M880 will work just fine for what you want to do with it, Don't let the talk about the wheel bearings scare you none, as long as you keep them greased they wil not be a problem. The 318 engin is the same as the cilvian ones ( without emissions) The FTFWD is great and you will love it...

Yep, That was the first thing I did to my unit. It was just to much of a pain jockying it around in the driveway.

I would not see a problem with it. If it needs paint then paint it...... Who cares if you cammo it like a cucv II. I thought the canadian army had quite a few of these trucks ? But I could be wrong though.

I think Alfa-heaven has some orginal good years 16.5 tires that came on the M880..... maybe you can get them to throw in a set if you are worried about the bigger tires.

Do not even hesitate to make one of these trucks a daily driver. you will not regreat it,( if you can live without air, electric windows and cruse control ) The 318 and 727 are well proven, the fact that it is a full time 4wd is only an issue at the pump.... and then it isnt all that worse...
