ODJEEPER,
I think the truck that I posted was a dually ( if my memory is right ) .... However I can not swear to it.
I remember taking the picture because of the MULE, It was the only one that I saw while on active duty from 1984 - 1988.
If I knew then that I would someday restore a M880...
Here is a picture I took at a Range neer Barbers Point Naval Air Station in Hawaii around 1986. ( I Can't remember the name of the range )
It has NAVY Markings......
I can't remember if it was 4WD, But I am pretty sure it was a stick.
Notice the front rims, fender emblems and how high it...
RE: Hmmwv
Why not just put an orange tip on the end of the .50 ? ( if a replica ) then the skittish soccer moms and police officers would know not to be afraid......
I wonder how many calls were made to the Police on the day the picture was taken ? Probably none.
You did't do to bad...... It's getting harder to find these trucks rust free and any time you can get a good 4WD with under 6ok miles for under $3,000. you cant go wrong.
The seat looks to be in great shape and you can still get new floor mats at Saturn Surplus.
So what are your plans with...
I have done the floors to get a non-skid surface in a couple of fiberglass boats with Dupli-color bed liner.
It is about $50. a gallon, but only comes in black.
I simply roll it on with a med. roller and then paint it whatever color I want with IMRON. works pretty well.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: M880 cargo cover
ok and thanks. I will keep that in mind if I ever get that far up north.
Do you have a web site for the Store ?
I never know what it is that I can't live without untill I see it :)
RE: one more
Thats GREAT.... I am Glad to hear that these things still go on.
A local bar wich was owned by a Marine use to give out one Free beer a day to any Marine who came in uniform.....
When did the Marines start using M-16 s for firing details ? I know in the Late 80s we were still...
RE: Re: RE: M880 cargo cover
Thanks for the offer, But now I am kinda looking for a new one.
where in Mi are you ? ( just in case I cant make anything happen with a nos )
RE: Re: RE: M880 cargo cover
Thanks for the link, I read that a while back.....
Does anybody know if stuinnh was happy with the cover ?
Is he a member of this forum ?
I also seen that one.... I just figured if the mod was no big deal I would just save myself the $75. and get the one for the M1008.
I will take a look at the above mentioned link before making up my mind.
Thanks
I would just have a friend or two be there at your place with you when you meet , Chances are he will be alone. If things get a little fishy then call the Law.
Ok, so I am looking on E-bay at a cargo cover for a M1008 which should fit a M800 with slight modifications......
Does anybody know what the mods are ?
Do they actually use that pattern on armor? anyway this guy did a great resto job.
the pic of the carbine is great! If only the green was a little closer you would never know it was there.
Actually I think it is a good idea...... But your ammo can is like a diamond in the rough, and you should Keep working on it . maybee add a fourth color or a darker tan.
I wonder what a truck would look like with this pattern.
