    CUCVRUS Repair Projects

Torsion axles work best on single axle trailers like this, however being fully loaded all the time will reduce the life of the rubber cushions inside the tubes. Easy to fix by replacing the complete axle. Good luck with your project.

    Hard Start Issue

The little puddle of oil could be diesel that came out of injection pump shaft seals. It runs down valley on top of engine, then thru a hole and down the back side of engine to the ground and looks like oil. Check it out. It could be a leaking supply hose that goes to same pump.

To doghead relay mod or delete relay all together and other electrical issues

I would replace that relay if it has already tried to weld the contacts together!

Replacement aluminum heater core low heat output idea

You may not be getting a good seal between the new heater core and the housing. Therefore the air is not going thru the core but around it. You can add high density weatherstrip foam to get a better seal. Your new aluminum core should produce more heat.

Flexplate Replacement Parts (+ tangential component replacements)

Did you make sure the torque convertor is fully seated into the transmission? If it does not seat fully into the front pump you will have problems mating engine back to transmission. Do not force them together and start the engine! You will have to do it again and work on transmission!

Rebuilding after 15 years of storage

Wow! I can not get parts within the USA in 5 days sometimes. USPS will haul them all over the country until they figure out where they go! Some parts I never get! UPS can lose parts too! This does not happen all the time, but it does happen.

    M1009 Transmission Questions

You have the wrong torque convertor! It must have the six mounting pads on a 6.2 diesel. Squibbly just went thru this on his rig.

Fuel additives for cold weather and/or storage

In southern states kerosene was not always available. Therefore truckers did add gasoline to prevent gelling when colder weather than normal showed its face.

    M1009 Transmission Questions

The hardened non greaseable u-joints will outlast the cheaper greaseable ones at least 2-1 or more is my experience. The cross is a lot stouter without the hole drilled for the zerk too. If yours have the originals there is your answer for sure!

Fuel additives for cold weather and/or storage

Truckers used to add 10% gasoline to high sulphur diesel with no problems. I would not recommend that with ULSD. I use Power Service in my diesel year around. Use Arctic formula in the winter time. Use double rate if operating below zero to prevent gelling.

Squibbly's M1009 and other Questionable Projects

Have you tried soaking it with all of the magic stuff? I like John Deere multi purpose spray lube. It penetrates and lubes.
