Those are cool, but I wonder if they know what they can get for them if they take them down from there and list them here in the classifieds. With what I see above, I'd be surprised if they could get LESS than $10K for the lot.
MORE PICS!
Looks like it was a great show again, sorry I had to miss it due to work. Hopefully I'll get to see a few of the NJ/NY guys in Aberdeen in a few weeks....
You hang out with people at the rally? I always thought you were back in your little hidey-hole away from everyone else because you're such a people person. ;)
A few I scanned for those who have the biggest 4x4 in the MV world. Recovery and wrecker operation training manuals for the M553 GOER, from Aberdeen Ordnance Center, MD, 1984.
I hope it's just as fun a time as ever! Won't be the same without Stretch, though.
"Personal tune-up", huh? We used to call them hookers back in the day... :)
Amazing what a new coat of paint will do to the appeal and value of a classic MV. Great job so far! Now time for the finishing touches and accessories....
Once again, had a great time - almost didn't make it, broke down on the way up with a coolant loss issue, trip back was uneventful. 345 mile round trip.
The trucks had a few minor issues on the trails, one CUCV with a fuel filter issue, 215dave's truck lost all brake air pressure on a gnarly...
I just noticed a trend - seems to happen at every RC rally. 40 people say they are going to go, and 20 show up. We're glad we have the 20, and they are the regulars that we are glad to see! But just a trend I noticed, lotsa I-can't-make-its at the last minute.
Hope you can't-make-its can...
I'll say it again,
If you're in a military truck and you're doing more than 60 mph, something is wrong with it.
If you're in a military truck and you're doing more than 70 mph, not only is there something wrong with it, you're probably going to die in it.
No dice on the CUCV this time around - just too little time to shop around and all I found in my area so far are overpriced beaters. The search continues, but my ass will need a shotgun position again.
You didn't say specifically what the duct tape was stuck on, metal, wood, glass or plastic. Be advised, some of the products that will remove sticky residue will melt some plastics. I learned that the hard way.
You're looking at a truck. Congratulations, you win a cookie.
I think you are referring to the angled piece of metal in picture 4? I think that's the spare tire carrier.
