GP system glitch with release codes. Am I the only one?

I will be near St Louis in a week or so. I might be able to help you with pick up and hold it for a short time with 24/7 access to my driveway.

GP system glitch with release codes. Am I the only one?

When my EUC finally cleared for a recent item I purchased I had a hard time getting the attendant at the pickup site. Once I finally did we made an appointment. He was on time - I guess he had to come from a different site. He was also very helpful. He went out of his way to make sure I was able...

    200 amp Alternator problem

The belt conditioner contains an acid that "softens" the belt. I was suggesting it to avoid the long discussion of pulley width depth and depth of v on the belt and the color or intended use of the belt and so on..... I was thinking if belt dressing fixes it then he needs to get new belts and...

Has anybody found an adaptor for an aftermarket steering wheel?

Was the truck missing the gap or the tooth? If it was missing the tooth then it shouldn't matter on the adapter. If the truck was missing the gap or has a double wide tooth then the adapter won't fit.

    200 amp Alternator problem

Guess I would try tightening the pulley bolt? They sell "belt conditioner" in most auto parts stores for about 5.00 a can. I would get a can and spray the belts when the engine is running. It will make it so if the noise has anything to do with slipping belts you will know right away. If that...

    200 amp Alternator problem

Ok that leads to the obvious next question... Was it making the noise just before the belts were replaced?

    200 amp Alternator problem

I don't know about the 200 amp alternator but that does sound like a alternator bearing. I would try spraying penetrating oil on the bearings while it is running starting with the one that is easiest to get to. Do not use wd40! If there is no change in sound or it gets worse instantly I would...

Has anybody found an adaptor for an aftermarket steering wheel?

my 1995 m998 came with a smaller steering wheel? Have you checked into a smaller m998 wheel?

    Starter Arc?

A faulty neutral switch should not cause the gauges to stop moving.

    Starter Arc?

Have you tried to test the voltage at the start switch. I converted mine to key. You should be able to reach under the dash and unplug 1 wire at a time. One of them should have a constant solid 24 volts.

Will an old fashioned GM speed driven fan clutch fit the HMMWV?

I usually swap in a 175 or so thermostat and leave the fan switch alone. The thermostat alone helps greatly with the heat here in south Texas.

Will an old fashioned GM speed driven fan clutch fit the HMMWV?

Google 8037024P, It seems pricey but it is normally closed 195deg and stands a chance of working???

Will an old fashioned GM speed driven fan clutch fit the HMMWV?

The fan is turned on by a thermostatic switch. Have you tried finding one that operates at a lower temp?

Will an old fashioned GM speed driven fan clutch fit the HMMWV?

You can easily disable the fan on the m998 by unplugging the delay module and plug in the fan's hyd solenoid directly into the harness that was plugged into the delay module.

    24v to 12v converter?

Nice radio! I saw a ad that said they would run directly off of 27 volts. There was no price - How much do they cost?

    24v to 12v converter?

I found a couple and tried them out. Using one gets hot when the radio is on even with no sound - just back lights. Using two get warm but heat up if the squelch breaks. They get verrrry hot trying to transmit. There is also a small voltage drop leaving less than 11.5 volts while trying to...

    24v to 12v converter?

FCC max allowed CB output is 4 watts. I am thinking 12 watts max input is not unrealistic???

    24v to 12v converter?

I am going to have to try to mod a CB to 24 volts by installing a LM7812 regulator ic inside the CB. In theory it should work with just one and allow you to run it on from 12 - 30 volts direct.

    Surge tank cap pressure rating

The boiling temp of water increases about 3 degrees for every 1 psi in pressure. The water in your radiator will now boil at 253 instead of 250.

    24v to 12v converter?

The cheapest way to get 12 volts for a low power device is to use a LM7812 regulator they can be fount on e-bay for about $0.10 and can power about 12 watts or 1 amp. For charging cell phones there are a number of usb chargers that work with 12-24 volts for about $5.00. I also found a couple of...
