Has anyone tried to fit this pump in?

Yeah, this needs to stop, or we’re gonna lose one or two valuable members. Agree to disagree, learn to walk away, learn to be Ok with being wrong, whatever. Not that big of a deal, but I sure do appreciate all the homework being done. Pretty sure the two (very old) hoses I’ve pulled out of tanks...

Welcome, good looking truck, and thanks for serving! If you're gonna 6-wheel, air shift. I use mine in the desert a lot. Can't afford to be hoping she grabs. Want it on when I want it and not when I don't.

    M35a2 Deuce won't Start

Betcha not enough CCA, either batts too small or too old. When I got my truck, PO had put two small batts in it. Fully charged, wouldn't start without a jump. I think they need group 31 size, about 1,000 CCA each.

    M35a2 Deuce won't Start

Load test. What does the voltage meter in the truck (or better yet, a meter on the batts themselves) do when you attempt to crank?

    XM-778 2 1/2 ton Cargo Truck, W/W

In my (vast ;-) ) experience with other vehicles, lockers and larger tires make a huge difference. But skill can negate it. Other thing is you guys are in mud and I’m in the desert...

    Terrible sound

Yes, It's magnetic. I'm betting blown head gasket. Sounds like mine, plus leaking coolant. Pull the muffler off if it has one. Pull the air cleaner off. Pull the belts off or loosen - process of elimination. Crank it with the fuel off. If it pops, clangs, bangs, chuffs, poofs, anything other...

    Rebuilding a Multifuel

Cool. Do it. I've been wanting to. Friend had a deuce that had been rebuilt in '91 and hardly used. Ran so smooth you wouldn't think it was a deuce. That's my goal eventually. Cattlerepairman went pretty deep in one I think. Do the LDS upgrades. Piston squirters, intake rockers. There are...

    Request M35A2 Retrieval info

Pull one of the injectors out of the engine. With it out, re-connect it to the fuel line. Make sure it is pointed in a safe direction, the pressure can penetrate the skin. Then crank the engine. It should shoot 3-4 feet. The injectors have a tiny hole and a spring holding back the pressure from...

    Request M35A2 Retrieval info

Trial by fire lots of reading and help from jeepsinker. I was determined to get that thing running and I worked on it non stop til I did. Then I was gonna rebuild the whole truck until I stumbled on my nice ‘70 for a song. My only concern in hindsight was galling up the IP, but it did have fuel...
