greedy vendors that want big $ for the same parts. you might find a korean import in there for cheap but for what 99.9% of the ppl on this board use the trucks for it won't matter 1 bit.
if you make it to the 20k miles without having some other kind f issue first then you would be the first.
You'll repack your bearings way more than you ever should, between the wheel cylinder problems and gear oil leaks, I bet you'll change that grease pretty often.
sounds to me like to had water in the IP that froze and would not let fuel thru. either that or your fuel gel'd up and would not flow.
you can open the fuel filter drain while cranking and see if the lift pump is giving proper feed to the IP.
you should use a spring material. Rod would work in a pinch but you'd need to have the bend perfect for it to look even close. it looks like the same material that a drain snake is made from. if you get desperate you could buy a drain snake and cut the length you need.
m35tom does sell the template. I do have a loose set of the cab insulation never installed. it will go in my truck once I finally finish up the rest of the stuff I want to do in the cab. to me that insulation is pretty delicate and must not be abused it seems like it would tear easily...
the fuel companies are starting to put florescent dye in the fuel now, bc you can blend out the red but a lot of them use the florescent dye so that when the LEO uses a black light he can still see the dye.
take pics of the gears(synchros) and how they are on the shafts. it's amazing but it can be put back together the wrong way. I've done it, all the way to the driving stage.
It might also be quite a while from when you disassemble it to when you fix it and the pics in the TM's are not very good...
