Ray70. You were right on , I followed the step you outlined and discovered that the fuel solenoid linkage was binding Slightly on the nut holding it to the governor lever ( wich could explain why randomly the 803 was not taking full load) . Loosened it by a few turn and ran a few test. -...
Dieseladdict, as per attached pics and video, using various combination of heater in the shop ( resistive load)I can load from 39A to 46A to 54A without bogging downd. If I try going from 39 to 52 with single load it bog down .

Canadian DND surplus set. Put close to 350 hrs on it since I have it ( set is at 1650hrs) What gets me is that it only bog down randomly. I mainly use it to heat the shop in colder weather. I let the set get to temp than start loading ( always try to stay between 80 to 100% to avoid wet...
See attached video. Running at 40 A and trying to add additional load. Bogging down , a bit of grey/white smoke but that's it. See pic in my original post. Worked at full load no issues but will randomly from one day to the other bog down above 40A...
Chasing a gremlin. The set has been working fine. New air/fuel filters, read all TMs , fine tuned / adjusted everything I can. 803 is set up for house emergency power or shop use. Using various size shop heater to load. Not consistently, but randomly will bogg down over 40 amps. Never...
1st pick is fuel solenoid in off position ( no power from switch). 2nd pick is solenoid activated - 803 running.
Pick 3 solenoid is normally off in all position until you move switch to START, on startup solenoid will remain activated on PRIME RUN, PRIME RUN AUX FUEL and will only...
Much more knowledgeable people than me on this forum, but if it's of help. The last photo is the mechanism to adjust rpm ( which in turn adjust hertz) and would not have a role on set not shutting down. 2nd picture is fuel solenoid which when electricly powered move the fuel rail which allow...
Built a basic shelter with square tubing. Back is open so I can slide it over the 803. Front panel removable for easy access. Doors at each end when running. Metal roof, old deck board for siding.
Found this older post on the forum if it help.
Looks like it would be cost prohibitive to purchase necessary parts

As LITD outlined it preheat the coolant.
Basically, I have been able to start the 803 without glowplug preheat.
to ~ -5°F so far. Wired independently from all other functions and bring the block temp to ~ +150°F on startup.
A few additional details in case it's of help/interest.
The 803 batteries are set up inside the shop, so to power the aux tank fuel pump I wired an external plug ( to one battery for 12v), using an extension I can connect to the outlet on the pump box. ( common plug , so extension can easily...
