Learned something new today, I was wondering about that because mine has the indent down. Then again, the whole guiding system on mine was broken off, so maybe they *** up more with this truck.
Thanks
Using your new address, figured it out for the other links I miss. Not sure it will always work, but the few I tried worked.
just replace everything BEFORE the post number with

Looking at my own old threads and some other old postings. When trying to follow links, I several times got a 404 Not Found error.
Did this happen because of upgrading the forum or?
Any way around this?
Probably this was already noticed earlier, but I could not find anything on it. Or it...
Lots of discussion going on making the 5-ton M39 series a dual circuit, but I think till now nobody here did it (or I missed the thread). I am preparing for it during the now starting repair period.
Can you give a good link to a pinion brake set and do they work on a 5-ton? I saw some threads...
Welcome to the dumpsters
Looks exactly like mine. Yep, M51A2 Multifuel. Indestructible.
Dump to tractor conversion: piece of cake, that is, if you rent a magnetic drill.
Mine is switchable between dump truck and tractor, switching takes less than an hour, I need to streamline it...
We did it

Reloaded the 145 Ah 800 cca battery. Turned out that my son had a new 155 Ah 900 cca battery in his forklift we could use as second battery.
We had the air filter out in the sun, pre-warmed the filter housing a bit and then reinstalled...
 This is new for me.
Unfortunately, TM 20 does not have a good pic of that area, mostly grayish without any details. Dismantling it and checking it out in detail was planned for later, so I will put it forward to today, if I can get to it; that location is a pain to reach from above...
Good remark, but we covered that. The fuel shut off rod gets stuck regularly, but we made sure it was completely back in when starting. After a few tries, we pulled it out and pushed it back in again to make sure. I think the difference between full out and back in is about 1/2 inch or a bit...
Finally getting back to work on the M51A2 1973 multifuel dump truck. And now for the first time since I have the truck, it will not start.
Background: the truck has been sitting idle outside for three years. Last time I started her up with the almost gone Hawker Armysafe's after a long period...
Great truck and nice pics. There are a few good MV people around Toronto; I met two of them last year. Rusty Loads (from Toronto) even drove his Tatra to the GA rally last year, maybe you can go in convoy this year or organize a Canadian - Toronto meeting.
Too short for German. I think its Aussie, but they would say bloody dingfod and everybody would know. The german short words would be something like eisenbahnknotenpunkthinundherschieber, which states exactly what the man's function is (and we can find out who understands German here, apart from...
Talking about obese. With $ 175K as asking price, you need to sell a lot of food before earning that back. Throw in fuel consumption and other running costs and I wonder who would buy that rig. Maybe it would work for high-end special events, but even then. Nice though.
How much does that crane weighs and does it influence the balance of driving?
In our over-regulated EU you probably would have to go to the DoT and get it registered on your papers as additional empty weight influencing your loading capacity. It it is not a removable item but a permanent part...
