Find out what is causing the issue first and replace what's broken "most likely hacked wiring . Don't start hacking things up more - keep it stock. The stock system design worked for over 35 years, why change it now.
Just start searching ebay and other sites for the parts/antenna you need, they do pop up from time to time. Asking prices have changed since I bought my accessories but you should be able to find an antenna for your new rig for $100 or less.

If its a 354 you won't be happy with its performance in the 1009 unless you plan on only using it off road . It has less torque and horsepower than the 6.2. Also it red lines at a much lower rpm so that will limit your top speed.
I don't have any vehicles in the HMMWV family so I can not give any valuable advise on those. My 2 CUCVs are registered and insured in NY as "Historical". Insurance cost about $120.00 "each" per year with 10K coverage. Downfall is you can't use them as a daily driver, but many do.
