My cucv burns up a glow plug every 3-4K miles

Find out what is causing the issue first and replace what's broken "most likely hacked wiring . Don't start hacking things up more - keep it stock. The stock system design worked for over 35 years, why change it now.

    General antenna question

You will need Lower Antenna AS-1730/VRC and Upper Whip Antenna AT-1095/VRC . I have a brand new one still in the box but I will never let it go.

    General antenna question

Just start searching ebay and other sites for the parts/antenna you need, they do pop up from time to time. Asking prices have changed since I bought my accessories but you should be able to find an antenna for your new rig for $100 or less. Make sure you purchase the proper antenna to match...

    Seat covers for M1009 CUCV

I have the Jatonka covers for 8 years now and loving them. Only issue I had was the base seat cover would slide around with my big butt on them. I ended up putting some clips in the back to hold them fast solving the issue. I also think that Smittybilt G.E.A.R. jeep seat covers will fit the...

    Fiberglass dashboard with speakers

Well Joe, You must explain your thoughts and the process. All I see is a shiny fluorescent green dash that color doesn't match anything. You may regret it when the sun shines on it. You can already see the green reflection in the glass and most likely it will blind you on a sunny day. You may...

New 1008 - Glow Plug Resistors Disconnected

What's important for the starting speed is that everything should be working as designed. M-1009 then and now

If its a 354 you won't be happy with its performance in the 1009 unless you plan on only using it off road . It has less torque and horsepower than the 6.2. Also it red lines at a much lower rpm so that will limit your top speed.

    M-1009 then and now

    I didn't know Perkins made a 6 cylinder 454. You sure it's not a 354.

    New Member from New York

I don't have any vehicles in the HMMWV family so I can not give any valuable advise on those. My 2 CUCVs are registered and insured in NY as "Historical". Insurance cost about $120.00 "each" per year with 10K coverage. Downfall is you can't use them as a daily driver, but many do.

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Rick, Now that you may have your latest build for a while you should rename it with something catchy like you did with Easter Find. 1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked of course is too long. Built in a Barn 1 is is good but still too long. How about just Barn Built 2 because Easter Find...

Don't get any ideas Rick. Though I would love to have your latest build, I recently retired and I am now on a fixed income.
