    Points gap?

If your truck uses a Delco distributor I would strongly consider checking to see if you can swap it out for a GM HEI distributor. I used to swap those out in old GM products. The HEI is electronic with everything contained inside the distributor, just hook up one wire to +12v off your first...

How far has anyone travelled in their Deuce?

I like to run mine at around 45-50. I use mine as a daily driver and have noticed that after I run it up to 2300-2600 rpm on the freeway the next time I go to start it makes louder noises as it builds oil pressure than it does when I keep it around 45-50mph. I tried it on some of my other...

    Lost Fifth Gear

There is a shop here in San Antonio called "87 Gears" They should be able to fix it and have given me good prices in the past. I don't know how you would get it here?

    USAF Special Operations Minicycle

The past few times I was at GL in San Antonio there were several OD motorcycles laying around. I didn't look to close but from a distance and lying down they kinda looked like Kawasaki's maby around 650cc or so.

    Multifuel engine intercooler

So to cool the intake air on a MF engine the quickest most effective mod would be to put in a 160-170 thermostat? I run coooler thermostats in everything here in Texas. I have found a 170 thermostat in Texas will run around the same temp as a 190 thermostat anywhere north of I40. I think I will...

    60 Hz Right?

A 50hz (rare in US) can be changed to 60hz usually just by adjusting the rpm. I agree if you buy a 400hz generator and want a 60hz one you are basically just buying the motor. I wouldn't expect any of the generator parts to change over.

    Points gap?

Not sure on that truck but on all the points cars I used to work on I would gap them at about the thickness of a matchbook. Some times I would have to tweek them after the engine was started if it didn't idle smooth or didn't have enough power.

    Where's Your License Plate?

In Texas if you get MV plates for $10 per year. It exempts you from having to add lights and stuff if they aren't original.

    Got my new deuce home

Nice truck. You need lots of parts but it looks like you got a good truck to start on. The 11r20 tires really help keep the rpm down if you keep it under 50mph or so.

    Lost Fifth Gear

I had the same thing happen. I haven't fixed it yet. We were on the way back from OKC with 2 new deuces. I heard a strange noise coming from behind me. When I looked back there was a red Ford Mustange flying down the road sideways. I slamed on the brakes as she spun around another 180deg and...

GL auctions ending Nov. 5th 2009

Yeah the rear door did look a bit crunched. The rest of the truck seemed ok. I hope to be able to fix the door? I live about 5 - 10 miles from GL but I am out of town this week and not sure when I will be getting home. Are you planing to be by GL next week?

GL auctions ending Nov. 5th 2009

I got 7101. I didn't get a chance to do a good preview. I was down there a couple of weeks ago and saw them on the lot. They were not listed at the time but I have been wanting one for a long time so we took a "peek".

Redneck A/C and tool boxes on my M820A2

I tried to run a ac unit off a power inverter and it didn't work. It had something to do with the way they regulate. They work better with a resistive load and mine seem to have problems with inductive loads - electric motors.

    Problem getting a title. Help?

Texas will wan't their taxes. If the guy doesn't want to help you should try to get a power of attorney. This will let you go to the dmv on his behalf and sort out the paperwork. If he is willing to sign that he sold the truck and doesn't want anything to do with it that might be enough to get...

I might have to part out a deuce, but I have questions first.

Which filters are missing? It sounds like it would be easy to get running. I thought you were suposed to get paid to go to police academy? I bet if you started driving the good one you would be able to sell the broken one to someone that would want to fix it. People are always bugging me...

    Axle Seal Gremlins!

Make sure the axle shaft is clean and very smooth. Make sure the seal is facing the right direction and make sure everything is pre-lubed. If the seal is dry you can burn it up fast. Make sure you drive it with the hubs engaged so the axle shafts spin to allow the seal to seat to the axle shaft...
