    M818 Heater kit install guide

water or fuel? it's all in the tm's. you dont really need an install directions, just look at the diagrams in the tm's and figure it out from there. I do have the install doc's for the arctic heater though.

    N14 in a M813? Is this possible?

as long as the rocker covers arent too tall, IE does not have jakes and you swap the fuel shutoff solinoid for the 24V versions, should work out just fine.

serious discussion of 5-ton speed increase via gearing (transmission, differential)

I am very interested to see how this turns out for you bc if it works out like I think it will, I'll be next in line to swap xcases. Somewhere I do remember seeing the torque curve for a 250. I think it's in the -20 or 24 stuff for the motor, not the truck.

    switch from LDT to LDS

MPH has nothing to due with what engine you have. If you are going 60+mph in your deuce then you are turning too many rpm's. Loud turbo means you prob have a C turbo and it's very very loud even at idle. 160deg is too cold. You should put a cover on the rad to get it up to proper...

Need help with Multi-fuel Personnel Heater

what happened is you messed with a very finely tuned fuel adjustment and now you have no way of getting it back to the correct setting. it was smoking a lot because it was clearing itself out after not being used for months and months. good luck with fixing it. I guess you could play...

    100k lbs gvw M818

thanks JT. I only meant the post as a guide to others as to what the trucks can do. I'm pretty well versed on the why's and how's of what went on with my move and I'd do it again any day, it's my truck and I had a blast doing it.

the one with the attached loader is, but the one without self attached loader is 74. my 818 weights 28k by itself. the plate was all the way back because I used it there last and didn't want to move it back.

    air connection

The front emergency or red glandhand has a one way ceck valve in it so you shouldn't be able to get any air out of it, only into it. The rear red gladhand will supply air once you have connected another gladhand to it and turned the ball valve 90deg. The blue or service gladhand should only...

serious discussion of 5-ton speed increase via gearing (transmission, differential)

Honest john missle trucks had a different ratio too but I don't think it's going the right way for what you are trying to do.

serious discussion of 5-ton speed increase via gearing (transmission, differential)

Just remember that as you stack up the gear ratio and the rpm's come down; that nhc250 is not going to be able to hold road speed empty, let alone pull anything. To keep it moving your going to have to keep the engine at redline which means using all the gear you put in it.

103k lbs gvw M818 Ya, it's not even close to legal or sane but I did it. All off road for those that care. It was so heavy I was picking the front end of the truck off the ground when trying to move forward(5th wheel was all the way back). had to back up to make turns with it. Would never...

    813 tranny air valve

yes, eastern surplus had the rebuild kits and NOS valves. I'd bet most any surplus dealer also has them.
