    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

'S ok, I do it too, even though I'm quite a bit younger. I like old guy stories anyway.

    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

I have tons of pics of my disassembly , but they weren't handy on my phone anymore, had to come back to the computer.

    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

The weather has gotten down under 100F, so I'm back to working on this one. Had to come refresh my memory on assembling the shoes to the backing plate.

Wow, that post had a bunch of errors. Too late up on the little phone screen. Corrected.

    Paramount water truck

Been working on the big dodge, pulled out a stuck semi with it yesterday. Picked up an M1008 that I'll probably be selling along with some of my brother's partial 1008s. Got a bunch more work to do on the dodge and the burb and sell the burb, and the sand rail needs a lot of little stuff too. I...

Just been too hot (triple digits) for any deuce wrenching. Won't cool down til next month. Then it's 4x4 and dune buggy season.

    Paramount water truck

Haven't ran it all summer, needed to move it, started up, boom 60 psi oil, yes!

New guy from PA just acquired an M35A1

    Got a Deuce! '62 M35A1

Just worked a deal for a little welding labor in exchange for mounting my 11.00s. Score.

    Paramount water truck

Haven't been running it, but last time I did, oil pressure only came up to 20psi. Was like 60 I think. Time to have a look (when I get a chance). Thoughts/ideas? I've never changed any filters/oil, and not sure if I should or start taking things apart to see what the deal is.

Anyone interested in heavier duty hydraulic head button retaining clips?

Seems that the clips falling off or breaking is pretty common. I run a machine and welding shop and have access to waterjet cutting and heat treating facilities. I could get some clips engineered (probably slightly thicker spring steel), cut, formed and heat treated for a few bucks a piece I...

    Rubbing compound worked wonders

I'm hoping to get that CARC off that cab and bed and preserve the green underneath.

    Brillo pad works good too.

M35A1 to sell or not to sell ??

So I got to go wander around a deuce lover's paradise (or two) this weekend and I'm on an A1 kick again. I enjoy finding the small trivial things that set apart the A1s and the gassers converted to multifuels. I found a '60 plow truck built by White that I think might have been an A1...

    Red's deuce/camper project

Yeah, I've been around 900s a little. Guess the trans is probably 6-12" longer, jack shaft is probably a little longer too... A 900 is a Cadillac compared to a deuce. If that's what you want, big tires, power steering and all, that's probably the way to go. If if I could have anything it...

    Red's deuce/camper project

How much longer is it? Seems like you could take a foot or two out of the driveshaft.
