I received a reply from JWADE. He confirmed he is a GovPlanet guy and has no connection with Gov Liquidation. My misnake. With that being said, does anyone know if there is a steel soldier that has an inside track with GovLiquidation? Would be curious to know what the title issue is and if...
Not sure about the title jumping thing. I know a lot of people that buy and flip vehicles for a living. They usually do some sort of work on them to get them roadworthy. my guess is that is what is happening.
I believe someone from GL at the Auburn site must be buying vehicles on the open market in Cali and then auctioning them under the GL umbrella. It says in the descriptions that they will be issued Cali titles in the new owners name. I have found some of the vehicles for sale under the previous...
???? Perhaps it was my use of the word recovery? Generally, "recovery" means someone is going to pick up a new to them MV somewhere and take it home. Did not mean to suggest you might be going to have an issue enroute. A long drive to Alaska, for me anyways, has always been exciting and...
Howdy and welcome from Colorado. I too like to tinker with small engines. Alas, no knowledge or suggestions on your flywheel situation. With dimensions and photos of the back of your engine(s) it might be possible to convert or build an adapter. Lots of remarkable minds and experience on...
Sounds like the few things that were wrong were not too big deal except for the driveshaft. Someone must have shuffled it around with a forklift at the yard. Were the seats and dashboard in bad shape?
I like the "Frenched" roller fairlead. Are you going with a military style chain lead on the end of the cable or make everything so it tucks up behind the bumper face when traveling?
I noticed that you rerouted the slobber tube from in front of the spring shackle to behind it. I presume to take the kink out of it. Looks like you ended up moving the kink farther up the tube though. Are you working on a solution or just leave it as good enough? I was thinking a 45 into the...
Thanks Special T. I was noticing the difference in pilots(cap nuts with pilots) and the reference for steel inners and aluminum outers. I suppose that is why the pilots are longer due to the thicker aluminum rims. I would imagine that is also the difference in longer studs shown. for steel...
Thats what I was thinking too. In my case I was going to demount the 8 rears anyway to convert to G177's. While I was in there I was going to go through the brakes / hubs as well. Probably not the case for everyone but I would imagine a fair number of people would go the extra distance if...
It might take a bit more research and measurement but, what if you replaced the studs with longer ones instead? I see several listed in the referenced Lawson site that might be candidates. assuming it was not too much additional work R & R ing the studs.
