For that reason I'd recommend having a spare wheel/tire for your M101A2 on board the trailer, so you don't get in a situation where you're towing a trailer with your M1009 and you get a flat on the trailer, the spare on the CUCV won't help you.
I'd pay up to about $3K for a good condition M923. I prefer the 939 series over the 809 series, mainly because the automatic would make road trips a lot less tiring.
Offer him $2K for the lot. You can make that back easily by selling them whole to a restorer, or in pieces on eBay. Would sure beat the price your friend would get cutting them up.
What I am saying is I bought this to find homes for what is left that is good, and the rest will be scrapped out. I'd rather save something, even just to find the parts a good home, than to have the whole thing end up at the scrappers and the good parts are lost forever.
The bed is really Swiss cheese, and the tailgate too, close up you'd see it. It would be solid enough for a trailer to haul firewood in, if you didn't care what it looked like, but then you have the bad tires to replace, and maybe the wheels and lock ring, etc. etc. I just don't think it's...
Well I found a CL ad for a M101 trailer for $50 - and it looked it. But I felt sorry for the old veteran, and I decided to rescue it from a rusty fate. Well, more rusty than it already is. There are some good parts on this unit, at the very least some parts can get saved and used to complete...
That's a good idea - some cops don't mind and some do, but removing all mention of "police" will prevent the ones who do from ruining your day. If you want to bring it to a MV show later in MP livery, get some door magnets made up with military police on it, in the same style and font as...
I've seen a 5-ton tractor with a sleeper, but not a S-250 shelter as one.
I think best bet would be to put a S-250 shelter in the front of the deuce bed, strapped down with steel cables as normal. That way, you can have a deuce with a camper and some storage area, or if you need more storage...
What is the real difference between the 2-door and 4-door HMMWVs? I'm not trying to make a stupid question, I'm just saying that the HMMWV was supposed to be modular. I can change a M998 basic HMMWV with the slant top into a 2-door ambulance or 2-door shelter carrier with some spare parts and...
