My current hoses are OEM Mercedes plastic clear hose. The blue hose above is hard teflon inside but soft outer. I think it will do a better job and is more flexible too.
I dont bleed it, I just prime it a bit watching the clear return hose and keep going until there are no bubble passing.
I like to put heat/sound deadner (dynamat was the original) in mine. I comes in rolls that you stick to floors, tunnel etc. and roll it down. It conforms to the contours of the panels and edges and can then be painted if you wish or put down factory insulation (expensive) on top. It has an...
Mine will start but it needs a lot of cranking if I dont prime it after sitting a week or more. I am saving some of that cranking time by priming it first. I know there is something bleeding down. I am tempted to put the Teflon lined hose I use on my HMMWV cooling upgrade kits to change out...
I hate reading this only because my SEE is running really really well BUT if I wait a week and try to start it I see lots of air when I use the primer heading back to the tank. I really dont want to dig in but my perfection side is kicking in.....arrrrg!
Put er to work today....found out how handy the hyd. cutoff conversion to my hyd. chainsaw can be. I know the blade is small but it is all I had on hand. I am replacing a wire fence with a wood ranch fence and am cutting out the old as I go.
You are correct about the flow pattern. The issue is that the feed and return are at the front of the block and heads, coolant stagnates at the rear of the block. Localized temperatures of the rear two cylinders is 40+deg hotter than the fronts. This is a VERY common issue on early GM style...
OK for all who have ordered but not yet received your kit... The next guy in line is OK waiting another couple of weeks for his kit. Who needs a kit ASAP? I have one kit that was used as a mock-up and has some handling marks and light scratches but is 100% functional I can get out right now...
Slight change to the rear plates design, now with hex flange to counter wrench when installing the fittings. No real function change but another slight improvement.
Thank you SSDVC for sending your crossover. So the crossover sent is exactly the same as the HMMWV crossover. Is it correct then that some CUCVs have that style crossover? My understanding was that they all used the civilian style crossover?
Which brings me to the next question which is do...
Forgive me if this has been looked at but have you pulled the vent out to make sure it is clear? A quick check would be to leave the cap off and run it. If it fixes it then your vent is clogged.
So an unexpected but added benefit of these kits.
A long time buddy/client of mine was one of the very first guys to get a prototype kit that was very rudimentary (steel fitings etc..) compared to what they are now. He was having a hard time keeping his truck cool and with a trip to Moab...
No problem, I will PM you. All kits are a little delayed with AN fitting supplier issues but they are going out this month and from there on out I will be in stock for immediate shipment.
If you have the sensor in the back head plate you will need a hybrid kit.
I forgot to mention recently that I still need the rear plate with sensor as well.
