I will probably install a gooseneck hitch behind the 5th wheel for the time being. If I find a good one on Craigslist that is. Don't want to spend too much on it, but would be a very handy hitch to have.
I am considering the same. Think it would look pretty cool. Plus, I have no 5th wheel trailers, and if I leave hitch installed, I'll start collecting 5th wheel trailers.
And we can't have that.
You mention the 22 Veteran suicides a day and PTSD issues. Would you like an official showing of the Mission 22 Truck? A 923A2 with the Mission 22 logo on the door. We hand out info on PTSD and TBI in addition to the info on the 22 veteran suicides a day.
I have the keys, since I own it, so I...
Is this what you had in mind? Or close to it?
Easy to build with some 1 7/8" schedule 40 or even 11ga 2x2 or so. Very handy setup. Move base of a frame farther up into truck, use chains to hold A-frame and to adjust the position of A frame. Winch it up until it hits top. Keep winching, A...
Do you mean a similar setup as a winch truck? Maybe they call them something different elsewhere. We use a flatbed, a giant A-frame arm with a snatch block at the tip of the A-frame. Winch picks stuff up, arms are held in position with chains.
Thats good. The best thing you can teach him is respect for the game. Too many young (and old) people think it's a chest thumping, he-man "all about he kill" type of activity that has no room for feminine or emotionaly vulnerable type of behavior. Crying, sorrow, respect, admiration of beauty. A...
Was about to post a question about that. I picked up a loudspeaker at Eric's. Can't get it to work. TM has one paragraph on it and it seems straightforward. Plug in loudspeaker, the end.
I have it hooked to the "loudspeaker" port on the main box, and plugged into the loudspeaker.
It shouldnt...
Sorry Mos68x, but that is just a crime what he did. An absolute unforgivable disrespect of a magnificent animal. There is no excuse for not taking the time to skin it and ice it or flesh and salt it immediately, unless there was some medical emergency on the hunters part, where he was unable...
Awesome! I have looked forward to this day since I put my name down!
I paid you before I even took a sip of coffee! That's a big deal. Nobody gets paid till I have my coffee!
Jbulach, looks like you ran hydraulic hose to your crane. Nice work. Tell me about that winch. I have plans of mounting a 18,000 lb winch in that same location. With a set of ramps, and ingenuity I can pull almost I want into the truck.
Now, that is an idea that I can subscribe to! Very good idea. You can take a 2000 lb HF engine hoist, a torch and some pipe and angle, plate, sq tube, etc and have two attachment points.
Well done!
Good answers. I guess in the end, each person weighs the pros and cons of any position they mount, whether it be front or back, and mounts where it's best for him. Truck position can often be altered to pick up anything, but if you have a specific use in mind, then you put it where is best.
