If the mount is the same as the deuce on the front leg, some are warped and the leg will not go into it or adjust properly. We took one off a couple of weeks ago and the hole was egg shaped rather than round. You might check to see if the bracket has a round hole.
Actually, I think the term design is what you mean. I doubt either shows signs of poor quality manufacturing.
And, sometimes the more complex the design the more problem areas are found.
Just thinking out loud. I have to say the only failure of either design appears to be a minor matter.
While I do not want to restart the debate over whose lock out hubs are 'better' than another, I think it fair to point out that in all the posts here about the lock out hubs the only reports of failures involved the Ouverson. The first was by sermis, whose hub was destroyed by a highway barrier...
I follow the advice of cranetruck on lights: Clean the grounds. Replace the rusty bolts, nuts and star washers after cleaning the surfaces. Sounds more like bad grounds to me than any other source, also.
To my knowledge this is the first post involving a failure of either the Ouverson units or the jatonka supplied AVM lock out hubs.

Post Scrip: Actually, sermis reported destroying his Ouverson hub on a highway barrier, but that was not...

The ease of installation versus time on your hands is always a consideration. My guess is the cost of the plumbing and time for the install of the Fleet Filter kind of evens things out. I looked at those Fleet Filter adapters for a long time before deciding.
I finally chose the jatonka system...

Pictures of the product are at: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce-modification-hot-rodding/20387-m66-gun-ring-reinforcement-plates-here.html
I hope to be able to price them once again at $150 delivered to you. I need...
Looking at the two systems, I have by way of disclosure the jatonka system on mine, it would appear that the jatonka system is lower in cost for the kit, both quicker to install and cheaper to operate.
If there is a heater present under the hood the install time for the ODIron system would...
