He posted the information on the cargo cover plastic cord:
McMaster Carr P/N 9616K15 1/4 inch EPDM rubber cord.
I just got 100 ft of it for $ 46.00 plus freight.
It is just right. My son bought a couple of hundred feet without telling me. It is a perfect replacement.
Thanks Karl.
Anyone who has been through one of the fuel audits can tell you it is no nightmare for the government. They all have 'rules' governing your answers. No records? No problem. Here is the estimate based on your answers, pay at the window. Been there, done it and it was no fun for my client...
Every state wants to tax motor fuel. WMO or WVO powered vehicles are subject to the same penalties as running red diesel. Whether or not you get caught is the variable.
The twin engine German jet is an Arado 234B, one of the remaining from those taken for testing to the US.
That plane, or one like it I should say, was the last plane over Scotland the day or so before the German surrender. Too fast to intercept it would seem.
When you change over to the spin on oil filters, do not forget to put a cloth around the base of the spin on filter for the next go round on the oil change. When the spin on comes off, there is more spill than with the stock filters. Not much more, but enough to make a bit of a mess.
That is...
My belief is that most, if not all, of us are budgeting repairs. So, a priority on converting to spin on filters, in my opinion, would be the oil filter conversion. That is critical on a deuce. The rapid increase in oil pressure is the most beneficial thing you can do in a sequence...
You will find that all of John's adapters go on in about the same length of time. What will amaze you is how much thought went into making it happen. Very ingenious system on the fuel secondary adapters, especially.
You will also find an increased confidence in the performance and durability...
With a gasser you had a lot more slack to play with. I do not trust the multifuel to be properly adjusted with the engine tamed down as you might expect. In VN they simply removed the governor from the engines. I am not certain that has not occurred on mine, although I am getting around to...
Today was just great. I got out both deuces today for the first time for a kind of extended trip of about 75 miles round trip.
The first, driven by my son is dependable as a Swiss watch.
The second, on the other hand, seems to have starter issues. Kind of intermittent when warm. Not sure...

Here is the jatonka primary fuel filter thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/31020-primary-fuel-filter-spin-installed.html
And here is the jatonka secondary fuel...
That primary fuel filter change is probably the worst done of the deuce filters. I have seen deuce primary filters with two different configurations for the filter and one with none. All of mine have been replaced with the jatonka spin on filters. When you can consistently replace a dirty...
I would begin with the oil filters first. As a matter of fact that is what I did. Then go with the primary fuel filter to get the first of the rust and crud from the fuel tank. Then, as I did, put on the secondary filters. Done over a year or so it makes a huge difference in the confidence...
You will probably have to go with a used one. I have not been able to find a new tach drive and I looked long and hard a couple of months ago. cranetruck kindly provided a replacement.
