John Murray has instructions for the install in digital form. Frankly, I do not like them. They came from the manufacturer.
I have mine installed and can take some pics. My largest mistake was not pulling the coiled wires up with a lead wire. I tried inserting them from the top. Mistake...
A really minor problem it appears. I would not call this a failure, frankly. Just either some fine tuning or I think you mentioned another spring being a replacement.
Good news.
I have gotten a couple of emails about the rusty and bent winch top plate photo I published in the classified ads.
The pic of the entire plate shows all five and the other three sort of, maybe kind of close ups of all the plates. One give the manufacturer and serial number. Another gives the...
I like the way that everyone has been thinking about this problem. Some, such as myself, simply decided the quick and simple way was to buy the Motive. Others, probably independently, came up with the same solution and took the time to build it.
We all, obviously, have way too much time on...
Check the drag link first. You have to anyway to remove the steering gear.
When I looked at the drag link on my first deuce the wear was unbelievable. I got the repair kit from Memphis and it took just minutes to put together.
If your drag link ends are as worn, get the kit, fix the link and...
The M35/M211 winch top plates have arrived today. If you have a bent or rusted top plate and want a replacement, this is it. No data plates are included and you will drill your own data plate holes as I do not know what plates you will be putting on your truck. The bolt holes are predrilled.
The one they made was off. It will do you no good. I told them to forget the blue print and turn it over the fab guy. He is far more accurate, apparently. I do not know how many more might or might not be needed after this run, so I will not be paying for another blue print to be made.
I...
OK, the last time I had them made they made a blue print. It is off, by a long shot.
I am taking the original back to make very close to duplicates of the M66 cab reinforcement plates. It will take just a small amount of time, however.
For those who have PM'd me I will send you the PayPal...
A book was written sometime in the 1970's that claimed J. Edgar Hoover would not allow his driver to make left turns. I believe it was called 'No Left Turns'!
NickD did an article in MV Magazine #116 sometime back about repairing the steering gear. I found it extremely helpful.
Any number of things could be wrong, from a defective bushing, to bad bearings. The drag link is the first item to examine as it is also the easiest. Memphis has a repair...
