OK, mine need the ends replaced. I think I can get new torque bars with the ends already installed.
How much trouble is it to replace these? What is the easiest way, other than going to a garage and having it done, to do the job?
Will I want to kill myself or my wife midway in the work?:roll:
When I bought the second deuce in July, it had a few problems. The one that made me really crazy was the intermittent starting. Run it till it got hot and park. Shut it off. Then it kind of wanted to cool completely to start. Sometimes it would start hot if you held the starter button down...
I have to agree with Bjorn. Just like Japan, give them some time and it will be of the highest quality.
Fortunately, as we have free trade with Pakistan, they will soon be making bearings also cheap.

I used to be in the TV business, building them. It cost about $75 to make an RCA 23 inch cabinet model. It sold for several hundred dollars, like $600 or so as I recall.
Building costs are not necessarily the costs of final sale and delivery.

It is kind of funny to read those two snippets Bjorn. After forty years they do have a glimmer of future problems we now face. I wonder how many of the canisters now have defective edges? Interesting that this was noticed back so many years ago.
