If you plan to use it in business, you are out of luck on the former military vehicle license. It is much the same as the antique license. Good for parades, etc. but not for business.
My experience in Texas is that you take the SF97 to the tax office and ask for a former military vehicle license plate. It is good for five years and costs very little. No license plate, the bumper number is the license plate, no extra license plate light, for obvious reasons and no inspection...
I checked the primary fuel filter yesterday. Those large chunks I got from the secondary and final fuel filters were not present. I concluded that they must have been present in the system past the primary filter and were released by the algae killer.
The primary fuel filter had present in it...
The truck came from the OK National Guard in Norman. If it was in the last big auction there it went for $2,000 or so.
The board along the sides of the bed and the tall bows indicate the Guard modified it for some reason to produce the really tall appearance. I saw several there at the...
I have some pics of the installed filters here. Also a pic of the crud that came from the fuel system after an algae killer was put into the fuel tank. Good thing to have filtered!
I also have a pic of the best place for the stock filters and cans.:-D
Check out the posts on the flasher problems using the search. All you ever wanted to know is there.
But, as a short cut, two things are usually wrong. The first is the flasher is broken. You can find how to check that in the other threads. The second is the grounds need cleaning, washers...
I have attached a few pictures of the adapter.
The entire kit consists of a #5070 gasket, an O-ring and the two machined parts.
The pics show the top and bottom of the adapter plate. As you may see the lip on the plate duplicates the rim of the stock filter can. The bottom of the plate is...
Any ideas on cleaning up the fuel supply are welcome any time. The crud I found in the change over to the spin on filters is non-magnetic. It must be algae or some other biological product in the fuel system. I put algae killer into the last tank of fuel and apparently it is working.
I am...
I received my spin on secondary fuel filter adapters today. I quit work early to put them on the winch deuce. Well, after a couple of glasses of wine with friends.
Simple install. No leaks. Follow the directions. Took maybe 20-30 minutes at most.
And, to show you how easy it was, I...
It is for deep water fording. It will keep moisture from the clutch when the plug is moved to the open hole. There is no hole in the other, just a place to hold the plug.
When you get the kit, do not forget to put a cut off valve in the mix. When changing the filter, cutting off the coolant source means a lot less mess to clean up.
I checked this afternoon, V V A 920 still has some power steering units not spoken for today. I bought two. I doubt you will see pricing like this again.
The units are being picked up at Ft. Sill today.
I put the AVM lockouts from jatonka on the front and forward rear axle. I got an axle from Off Road Fab Works, I know I was a lucky one, that works just fine.
Sturdy lockouts which have produced no problems for more than a year. I will buy another set for the second deuce next month.
Do not forget the possibility that there is a problem with the tach drive. Check it by removing the cable and see if it is rotating properly. Pesky things.
