I would imagine you would want to remove the driveshaft to that axle too then. If not the tires would be constantly slamming as you accelerated and stopped.
Winches are not designed to hold a load, only pull a load. As you hit bumps the axle would bounce and jerk on the winch cable. I think it...
The test drive went great. Shaving the tires made a huge difference in the ride and noise level. Far less squeaks and rattles coming from the truck and a much smoother ride.
I believe it will get better as the tires wear in a little.
With some balancing it is going to ride very nice.

Check your air pressure. If it doesn't hit 120psi or above the CTIS will not work properly. A quick adjustment of the governor should remedy it.
Mine did the same thing after I tore my compressor apart.
I believe most guys shoot for 130psi but mine is set just above 120psi and everything works...

I have three Goodyears and three Michelins on my truck. All six are close enough to the same age and tread wear for a general comparison.
The three Michelins were not too bad as far as...
Not yet. I still have two tires to shave. I have an hour drive Monday morning and I will report back after that.
My next step is balancing also.
From what I saw while shaving them I think I made a huge step in the right direction.
Here are some pictures of the setup.
By the way, this saw is available to anybody that wants to do this and can come get it. I don't want to deal with shipping it but it is free to use.
Ok, I shaved 4 of my 6 tires yesterday with great success. I just ran out of time and will do the other two today.
The decent tires took about an hour each. The rough ones about two hours each.
I believe my setup is very simple and worked well. I took a beat up old sliding compound miter box...
