Welll, since sometimes drive back and forth between Atlanta and the Philly area, I wanted to have extra fuel. This allows me to avoid paying exorbitant fuel taxes and I just fill up one time in Virginia on the way. Ga has cheap fuel taxes. So does VA. Fill up in Winchester, VA at the Flying J...

I wanted to have the ability to select tanks so if I got a dose of bad fuel in one tank OR if I wanted to run bio, I could select back and forth. The other issue with a transfer system is that if you don't pay close attention to the transfer, you can over fill the target tank.
You mean like this?
Rough details of what I had to do in order to make this work.
1. Source a second tank with pump.
2. Source a set of fuel tank hangers.
3. Find a fuel selector valve from an M818 or other 5 ton with 2 tanks.
4. Find a relay and switch
5. find a second fuel tank level...
If I can make it, I'll bring my truck help out with transport and then work as an Observer for the Field Tactical. It's a good event WWII reenacting wise.
You'll have to plan on camping in your truck OR camping in the main camp with a tent.
If it's anything like the Ferrets or Saracens, it's not.
It's either applique welded to double up plates OR it was increased at the factory.
Not sure. They're heavy, figure on getting used to driving it with weak brakes and planning your stops.
I mounted a 5 ton truck's right side tool box on the bed of my truck up at the head of the bed for those things I want to secure. I'm probably going to make some smaller tool boxes for under the sides of the bed now that I'm starting to weld. I have a lot of other things stored in the bed either...
Anyone know if there's a cross ref for a deuce Exhaust J-Pipe Gasket.

This is the gasket to go between the pipe connections under the v-band clamp.
Chuck you might get lucky and get the right size out of the McMaster Carr catalog. Get under there and take a look at the plug size and go from there. Obviously none of us can quickly look at our trucks. You might also order them via Saturn or Ted or one of those folks. Ted seems to get a bunch...
The question is, do you have the tractive effort to recover the vehicle or do you need to add the weight of the recovery vehicle as inertia to extract the stuck vehicle.
Personally, I like the idea of snatch straps for smaller lighter vehicles, but the idea of such for big heavy vehicles seems...
That IS an M870 trailer. The 870 and A1 are a folding low boy.
The M870A3 is a detachable gooseneck,
Both have a 40 Ton capacity.
See TM 5-2330-378-14&MP M870 and M870A1
and TM 5-2330-325-14&MP M870A3
I would worry that cutting the armor there could cause problems with structural integrity. Remember, that hull is a box. It's strong based on certain shapes. Change the shape and things could start cracking.
As to cameras, Fab up some boxes that have a slot and a cover and small brackets. It'd...
I would strongly recommend that you pay heed to the folks here and re-vise your plans. The M105 MAY look sizably matched to the modified jeep, but the jeep still doesn't have the weight to resist the loaded M105's pushing it around. A modified M100 or M101 would work better for your purposes by...
Bryan, I've been thinking about something like this. Given the amount of space, or lack there of, I've sort of figured that a 5 ton cargo truck with the bed removed, the frame bobbed back near the back of the tandems (like an 818), a 5th wheel and a winch added would work well for a recovery...
