Way to make truck not start so people cant drive off in deuce

I have seen where guys swap the battery switch with a keyed switch (on a 5 ton anyways, assume they are similiar). Or take the switch handles off. Locking the steering wheel chain is the simplest way though.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I climbed under mine and disconnected the auto-6x6 low range pusher. Many recommend removing the washer but I loosened the Allen screw on the arm and turned it so it wouldn't connect. That seems much easier then getting the washer out, and simpler to reverse if need be.

    Unloader Issues?

The parts shouldn't cost too much. If I have any more issues I am going to just replace everything. Local truck shop said the gaskets and seals may not be readily available as the dealer would rather sell you a rebuilt compressor. Good luck.

    M923a2 air compressor mystery

Just wanted to give a little update on this issue. This is copied from a response I gave in another thread so some info may be a repeat. I took the unloader to an auto parts store and ended up with a gasket sheet and cut my own. I didn't replace anything else. I cleaned everything up and lubed...

    Unloader Issues?

No part numbers. I took the unloader to an auto parts store and ended up with a gasket sheet and cut my own. I didn't replace anything else. I cleaned everything up and lubed the moving parts. I had my unloader stick on me before so the copper colored slider got special attention. All the seals...

    Unloader Issues?

It leaks much less (just a little foam on one side, no bubbles) and seems to kick on less often. It took a while to get a normal run with the CTIS topping off the tires. I think the compressor/ unloader issue is pretty much solved for my truck. It pumps better than it ever has. I think I have...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I am sure that it breathes better with the cap facing forward. I would have to test it facing backwards just to keep bugs and stuff from flying right into it. The screen seems a bit big to let stuff fly right in.

What 5-ton series would be good for mudding?

Yup, big difference. The air brakes can change the requirements too.

    M923a2 prices

Shipping/ recovering is what makes the prices really go up when you get one at auction. Plus you can't really preview it if it is far (if preview is even allowed). Don't forget tax and auction fees too.

What 5-ton series would be good for mudding?

Actually, it is the transfer case that is weak in low 6x6 reverse. I don't know of any 5 ton that would make a great mudder. They are heavy and there are better options for weight to power ratio. Hopefully someone else can give you better options.

    Unloader Issues?

I rebuilt mine today and will test it tomorrow. It was doing the same as yours, constantly kicking back on. I will let you know if I finally got it sealed up and if the situation changes.

    Unloader Issues?

I temporarily relocated the fuel return line out of the way but that is all. I am just replacing and sealing the gasket in mine because it leaks out of the housing. I have no clue what parts you are going to need to replace. Did you spray it with soapy water and see if your housing is leaking?

    Unloader Issues?

I stand corrected. It can be done but what a PITA. Now to get it back in..........

    Unloader Issues?

I wonder what is different. I could not get the rear bolts out seperately. I tried everything. Since I am going to tear mine apart again I will give it another go.

I have to move my bed, any suggestions!

Can you just notch the bed rail to clear the tire? Or bend it back a little with a sledge hammer..........
