    Bobbed deuce weight and limit?

Capacity of the axles - total weight of the truck = cargo capacity (should be).

pick up truck needed from ga to de or close

Getting it sent north on the ECC would be your best bet.

How do you Guys start your rig when it's negative 10???

Yep, it's the heating vehicle that can get cold shocked and get a cracked block. Essentially, you're cooling the block suddenly when the pistons and everything else are hot. You can shock cool an air-cooled engine (open cowl flaps suddenly) the same way.

    Coolant Hoses

Just talked to Squirttruck. He got his hose from McMaster Carr. There are t-bolts that are good for this but use the constant tension types.

    Coolant Hoses

I'm less concerned with the long heater hose and more concerned with the engine radiator hoses. The Heater hoses I can cut off the water flow to with the valves on the engine/coolant line feeds. One doesn't have that option with the engine's coolant supply though.

    Coolant Hoses

Kind of what I figured. Now, where to find Silicone Heater Hose that's the correct size for a Deuce?

    Coolant Hoses

So I've just pulled the radiator to take it to a radiator shop for a bit of work. It' has a minor leak on the bottom tank where it meets the core. While I have it off, I'm going to replace all hoses and belts. What's the best hoses to install on a deuce? They need a couple of short lengths, an...

    !!Help!! M809 Series Starter trouble

I would suspect batteries first. Norm's M818 would click. It had 3 bad batteries with shorted cells so they wouldn't take a decent charge. With 2 good batteries it started right up. There can be issues with the Relay box on the firewall, but I'd suspect batteries first. What's decent voltage?

    M818 recovery from Redstone Arsenal

Norman, you'll want to PM Richard (Wreckerman893) for the spare mirror. I think I've found the way to fix the leaky hydraulic steering piston. It has a busted off bold in the cylinder that I think I can extract and a seal that was pretty much fragmented into three parts. I'll do some research...

Anyone ever use an oil/water temp sensor to turn off oil/block heaters?

To get the best efficiency, you want to turn on and off with the temperature of the block, NOT the air or based on time. The Zero Start using would be good.

Broken bolts in blocks, winches etc.

If you're not a good welder, I'd carefully drill the hole out a good bit and try to extract the bolt. You need to drill it out a good bit first. Worse comes to worse, you can over drill the holes and then put in a helicoil.

    M818 recovery from Redstone Arsenal

I spent some time working on this truck today. 3 of the 4 batteries is bad. One has one shorted cell. Two have 2 shorted cells so it took me a few days to get batteries sorted out and recharged. I had one spare 6tl and that plus the remaining 6tmf that still charges and holds a charge let me...

Anyone ever use an oil/water temp sensor to turn off oil/block heaters?

There have to be some process control thermostats on McMaster Carr's site that would work for this just fine.

    M818 recovery from Redstone Arsenal

Sunday Norman (Brigand) came down from Northern Virginia. He'd won an M818 5-ton Semi-Tractor in an Auction on Gov Liquidation. Sunday was spent going over details of the truck, getting some dinner and chattin a bit. Then we rose at 5am and made a 4ish hour drive to Huntsville to recover the...

Anyone have any idea what civilian parts number the M809 muffler is off hand? We'll be needing one for the M818 that Norman (Brigand) bought.

    Rattle Just After Startup

My truck had a nice rattle at idle. Found it at a rest stop. There was a bolt and nut that had come loose. The bolt was impinging on another bolt and the nut was caught there down on the tips of both bolts and was more or less spinning due to the vibrations of idle. Under the fender, it made...

Why the Deuce Doesn't Have These I'll Never Know!

I do have to point out that the personal attacks I'm seeing on this thread aren't so nifty. I expect better of this forum. I can stand more political conversations with out people descending to attacking people personally based on some sort of impeachment of their positions based on their...
