    M109A3 RVs? Who has one?

    I posted this 2 or so years ago. Still pretty darn cool.

    Start/Stop handle, what do you do?

    I have two Chocks that are handy on my truck. I have a stowage bracket that I still need to install on my truck for the right rear one. Usually that chock stays in the bed. The daily use chock hangs by a piece of white nylon rope from one of the front cargobed tie down points between the bed and...

    Dual Tanks

    That is the other issue with a transfer type system. You can over fill your primary tank if you forget to shut off that pump.

    Dual Tanks

    The self leveling tank system from one to the other tank is a BAD idea if you want to have any degree of reliability. A pipe running from the underside of one tank to the other would VERY easily catch things on the ground and would likely tear away. It would leave you a nice double trail of fuel...

    Dual Tanks

    I would assume Fuel Tanks. There's 2 air tanks in the middle of the truck. The syntax of the sentence above seems to indicate fuel. Proceeding on that assumption, I'll chime in that I have in fact, added a 2nd fuel tank to the left side of my Truck. You have two basic ways of doing it...

    Actually, MOST of the guys are up near you. I'm the odd exception down here in Atlanta. Three or four of the guys are there in NorVa just east of you, Culpeper and eastwards. M172s are nice BUT they're over-width. We don't want to have to deal with over-width permits every time we drive the...

    using my 818 and trailer

    I tried to get a pair of M872s out of Fort Gordon. Some bidder wanted them a LOT more than I did.

    Oil Pressure in 5 ton Gasser

    You think maybe the head gasket is coming open as it comes up to temperature and that's allowing a loss of oil pressure?

    Oil Pressure in 5 ton Gasser

    Dave, get an engine oil analysis kit from NAPA. I've got a pair of them on order for Norm's M818 and my M35. We'll keep a running set of values on these and probably ought to do the same for the armor. The nice thing about an analysis it will tell you if you have bearing issues or other...

    Tanks, alot

    That is the land demonstrator. The Sea demonstrator is a different body/hull and has different parts. They were built as two separate parts to test the appropriate configurations. I've climbed around in that Land demonstrator unit though.

    using my 818 and trailer

    IT's the Trailer Chassis for the Expandable Shop Van setup. Not a bad trailer, light weight capacity though. Not good for anything approaching 7-10 tons as cargo sadly. Otherwise I'd snag one and convert it.

    Homebrew Deuce Headache Rack

    So the way to find a crane for cheap is to build a headache rack and then one will show up? :roll:

    Coolant Hoses

    Ok, so I had the radiator and Heater core boiled out at Sim's Radiator Service in Decatur, Ga. Very good work on the radiator and he painted the entire thing a good hard coat of matte black paint. The Heater core was apparently in perfect shape with no leaks. I'm not sure where I'm getting the...
