    Cargo Cover Options

The vinyl covers are VERY nice and VERY durable. Much harder to break down in the sun and Much more resilient to damage. Mine's be rubbed on by trees and where canvas would have ripped this stuff shrugged off with very minor scratches.

    Tag issue

The problem with going with a farm type tag is that you're now trying to look like an exempted class of commercial vehicles. You'll be fine as long as you're 150-200 miles from home. Get out of state and 500+ miles away and you could be charged with NOT having a commercial license when you're...

    IP failure mode No 2

No second retainer is probably why it's broken in the first place.

    IP failure mode No 2

RE: Re: IP failure mode No 2 Bjorn, could it have been re-assembled improperly by the previous mechanic?

    Tag issue

Federal law does NOT require a DOT number. In fact, it specifically excludes them. Under federal law our vehicles are ONLY commercial if used for a business.

    400 hz

Hmm, i'll have to find out if DC rectifiers can work on 400 Htz. If they can then I can see running a whole house UPS system on it. Charge the batteries with the rectified DC and then use an inverter for the 60htz AC. Hmm, gonna have to call some vendors tomorrow.

    Hood Vibration Dampeners

I've been wanting to replace these as well as add insulation to the hood and side panels. I figure those would both be VERY good for reducing engine noise on long drives.

    Headphones recommendations while driving Deuce

RE: Re: Headphones recommendations while driving Duece I use a set of peltor headmuffs for hearing protection. I stuff my ipod earbuds in my ears first and since I don't listen to heavy music I'm good on surrounding sounds. Peltor makes a line of headsets that have input connectors AND are...

M114 SWAT vehicle gets WGTi mods

Yeah, tell that to the BATF ninja squad when they went and attacked the Branch Davidians on day one. They got their backsides handed to them (rightly so, but it didn't turn out well). There are folks out there with more preparation and always expecting your enemy to be sloppier than you is a...

M114 SWAT vehicle gets WGTi mods

Functionality changes like this aren't so much pimping as function changes for a vehicle. Any thoughts to spall liners or other armor appliques to increase the ballistic protection of the vehicle? One thing that I think a lot of police departments don't get is that there ARE fairly easy ways...

    Vinyl boots?

RE: boots I'm actually starting to wonder if rubberized canvas would be better for these things. It'd have extra material BUT would be stronger.
