    Axle breather assembly

Which valve/pn is it? Good idea. Very good idea. And you can do it manually if it fails too. Which PN Here too?

    Ouverson lockout hubs water leak

RE: Re: RE: Overson lockout hubs water leak There very well may be a failure in the hub insofar as seals go., Call Ouverson, explain the problem and they'll probably be VERY interested in making it right. From talking to them they seem to be proud of their products AND very interested in...

    Ouverson lockout hubs water leak

RE: Overson lockout hubs water leak Send it back. They may find a fault in it.

    Should I do it?

Rockman, I think that's a prototype deuce cab that didn't get adopted. Modifying it would be a crime.

    Throttle pedal response question

PM the ENTIRE fuel system first. Filters, check for lines that are crimped, clogged pickups and trash in the tank. Drain the sump on the tank and look for water. I had a 5 ton that would run fine, then get down the road and the rpms would float and not drop back down BUT power would be off, I'd...

    Fluid dynamics anyone?

It would seem to me that running the breathers to a fording pipe that supports the mushroom where there's a small filter on the fording pipe for the various breathers would work pretty well.

    Deuce Tips and Tricks

RE: Quick way to fry a generator Why would that fry the generator? Doesn't it loose field power and thus it's output drops to zero? If so, it's not pushing voltage and not making current and thus can't over work.

    Front end sh-sh-sh-sh-aking!

Check lug nuts. Also tire condition. Make sure there's not a big lump on the tire. Look at it close BEFORE YOU TOUCH THEM. A swollen bit could let go if you disturb it. One of the members had a broken belt in a tire let go and watched it grow before his eyes and blow out.

    Lockout choice

My truck with the Ouverson Engineering Cast hubs. Talking to randy about them I seem to recall that he said the forged ones were just overkill. I think he said he'd yet to have any of the cast one's come back broken. The Ouverson hubs even come with a set of hex cap screws (Grade 8 iirc). Oh...

    DragonCon 2007 Parade...MV's wanted!

So I've had a few nibbles for MV's but no real takers yet. The Convention has a Parade. Last year I had two of my own MVS in it and the Senior Director LOVED the vehicles in the parade. So, I was asked to see if more would come. We have slots for 3 Vehicles. This thing is huge, 20,000 people...

    M105 Trailer Brakes Won't Release ... AAAARRRRR!!!

Stupid would be getting down the road 10 miles and realizing you had D-shaped rims and no tires on the trailer.

    Brake Lights On too long

The switch closes with a few PSI of pressure if I'm not mistaken. IF the pressure which is 120 PSI or so takes some time to vent throught he vent system then it may take a second or two to open the switch. More so if it had fresh oil in the vent line that prevented it leaking down quickly. The...

Dennis, Shelby, and improvised fording engineering

Well, the fording kit for the M813s had a valve that put air into the valve cover which, presumably pressurized the crank case with air. I'd have to wonder why Deuces don't have a similar configuration.

    Brake Lights On too long

Could the vent line be blocked? If that's the case it may not be letting the air vent easily. Extra pressure on the air pressure switch could be enough to trip it but not enough to put useful pressure on the brakes.

Good ideas for screw extraction, please

Bjorn, you could run a tap through it to oversize and helicoil it. That'd be stronger than original.

    Crewcab plan

RE: Re: RE: Crewcab plan I'd cut it just forwards of the kick vent point and make up a blanking panel to go up higher. Either a solid panel there or a small window would work. Bench seats in back and a pair of spring rides in front.

    speedo/tach combo?

I think they were generally given to transportation companies as opposed to direct support companies. The Transportation companies are going to be driving long distances on a regular basis so it makes more sense there.

Dennis, Shelby, and improvised fording engineering

Bjorn is right with regards to the newer materials, but I prefer to go with the original parts copper lines, double flare ends, etc). When/if I make my fording kit, I'm going to try to engineer things as much as possible so they look correct. My Fuel tank installation uses military parts and...

LMTV cargo cover on a deuce

You've got the Tarps AND Bows? Hmm, seems like you could adapt it for a deuce. Make some sleeves for the bow sockets on the bed?

Dennis, Shelby, and improvised fording engineering

I think the biggest issue for making an extemporized fording kit is the regulator to put out 2-4 PSI of air into the bellhousing and on your breather lines for the axles. When you prepare to do this work, make sure you split your breathers for the fuel tanks from the lines for your airpack and...
