I appreciate the help. Is there any reason why they'd intentionally cut that red power line into the OLI or do you think it was just accidental/stupidity?
Thanks, that helps some. It appears the wire next to the power runs all the way to the battery. I'm still not sure what's going on with the red wire on the OLI that's broken in two. Not sure if they're supposed to connect or if something is supposed to be in between them.
I picked up one of the Warn 18k winches a while back and have finally got some time to try to wire it up. In the pictures I took I can obviously figure out the power and ground. I just wanted to confirm a couple things.
The Overload Interrupt is the Generation 1 so it's the square box in the...
It's a lot more work to switch to that I beam steer axle than it is to swap a trashed TC or front axle. My guess is they wanted a 6X4 for the above listed reasons.
That's a question that needs to be answered by law enforcement in your specific state. Blue lights (and only when activated on a vehicle, by non law enforcement personnel) is one of the big no no's. But like I said, each state is different so consult the locals to avoid any hassle.
Here's a pretty good idea on what it takes for the mod.

It's because being killed by a Ford Taurus is a mundane "dog bites man story". The media wants money and that comes from advertisements. Advertisements come from having readers and readers pay attention to the unusual "man bites dog" attention grabbing stories. Trust me, after almost 20 years...
Either way it's negative attention. It only takes so much before someone decides to come up with some "bright idea" legislation that restricts the use of former military vehicles, by civilian personnel. Flying low and off the radar is generally the best way to avoid undue hassle. Unfortunately...
I'm 99% sure there is no flatbed trailer that the military used for the HMMWV that had a 12' deck. Closest thing I can think of to those dimensions is to get a M103 and put a flatbed on it, or the M103A2 generator trailer.
Use shop air to the emergency glad hand (red one) on the front of the truck. This will pressurize the system and since the trucks not running you will be better able to track down any leaks. Also, the air compressor outlet line (large line coming our of the bottom rear of the air compressor)...
Yup. Funny thing, the solution was in the TMs..... Air leaking out of the stack could be caused by a couple different valves sticking. It depends on if it's leaking when the parking brake is applied or not. One of the issues is the valve on the parking brake. Mine was a valve, I don't...
First step: See if the outlet line from the bottom rear of the air compressor is hot to the touch, while the truck is running (200 degrees plus hot). If not the air compressor is not producing enough air. The usual culprit is the unloader head on top of the air compressor. It's a relatively...
