I would check your dip stick to see if its red or yellow. They put 15/40 in some,Dexron III,OEA,10w according to the TM-9-2320-272-10.I have had some trucks with 15/40 or 10w and I have had some that have had dexron. If its to low to check unscrew your external trans filter and see what color it is.
I just want to say thanks to Bob Rainville in indy.Bob is a really great guy. I was worried about the fuel in my new M931A2 being all gelled up in the lot. I got ahold of Bob on wensday and he said he would go and check the truck out and put some antigell in the tanks.it was only 5degrees...
I bought the kats napa block heaater then after reading I went with the kats 500 watt oil pan heater very easy to install just stick it on and your done.
I have picked up some anti gell and some diesel 911 for fuel that is gelled up.I have new fuel filters too. I talked to Bob Rainville this morning he is in indy and he said the military put additives in the fuel and he said he would go check it out for me today. Bob seems like a great guy.
Iam not shure what fourm to put this in. Iam going to recover a m931a2 thursday morning in indy. I would like to know if the military puts fuel additives in to keep from gelling. It is going to be single digits thursday morning. Thanks
My m923 would not build enough air pressure to release the brakes. The air dryer pistion was stuck open, napa has a rebuild kit. I think I paid 70.00 for the kit and filters. When I got it apart the o-rings were dry. You might be able to take it apart and clean and lube it up.
I found pics of Truckoholic's truck it looks very nice but he said he has a special bed on that truck. Anyone have them on a truck with the 12' or 14' drop side bed?
The trans shop wants 128.00 an hour to figure out what is wrong and he said normally they can find out what is wrong in two hours. He did say if it is the rear bearings I dont need any special tools.
When I was looking at the tail housing today it does look like I can pull it off with out removing the trans. I was just wanting to know what Iam going to get into. I would of thought someone on here would have some first hand experience with this trans.
.
Has any one had the tail housing off? I would like to know if its needle bearings in there. Ive tryed google and searched on here. Someone has had to have this off. I would have to drive the truck 30 miles to the local dealer.
