The only radio in my truck is an RT70. I fixed it at great expense and time simply because if it is there, it must work.

    M37 fuel gauge wiring

Make sure the sender is grounded. It won't work with a marginal ground. I ran an extra ground wire to the frame rail from the sender because relying on the the tank straps wasn't good enough.

    Ham Radio and military gear

Been licensed cor a wbile. Haven't keyed a mic in at least 10 years. I just can't sit there and listen to the same convo over and over and over. Only keep a radio in my truck as we have a good repeater network and it would be handy in the desert in an emergency. Haven't yet had an emergency.

Partial 12 volt conversion need M37 starter advise

12v on a 6v starter isn't a bad thing. I've been doing that on flathead Fords for decades. But 12v starters for flat 6's shouldn't be hard to come by. There were hundreds of applications for them for decades. I have one in my 12V conversion. Got it from a REAL parts store.

    Painting canvas

The covers on my truck (Canvas) have faded to nearly white from our intense sun. What recommendations do you have for a brand/type of paint to use to bring it back to color that won't just flake off? The covers are not waxed or rubberized canvas. They were treated 2 years ago with the Canvak...

53 m37 who to call for hood

You could learn the fine art of shrinking the metal and repairing the hood. There is PLENTY of gauge to allow you to err in the process and recover.

    FM broadcast reception on RT70?

Can anyone explain how I am able to receive most of the local broadcast FM stations on an RT 70? And clear and readable, to boot. I don't get them on my Heathkit Receiver tuned to the same band in the same room. Very weird.

Adjusting valve on a dodge flat head

The reason for adjusting these HOT on the flathead sixes is to avoid the vagaries. Since the wear on the valve stem and the tappet screw will affect the accuracy of a cold reading, adjusting them hot with everything grown to its operating conditions makes for a more accurate adjustment. In these...

Adjusting valve on a dodge flat head

Just a rule of thumb about valve adjustments. Loose is good for idle and low speed operation at the expense of high rpm performance. Tighter is better for high rpm performance at the expense of low RPM torque and idle. Since these 230's aren't exactly high revving, the wider gaps work well.

    1963 M37 - Pre-start checklist

With the drying up of correct spark plugs for these trucks, fouling the ones you have with lead doesn't seem a good idea. They have hardened exhaust seats to begin with.
