I was thinking of your trailer as I was headed over there. But this gives me an excuse to get over there more often.
If I had realized that your trailer was still there I would have gone by and scuffed the tires for you!
Dan, I still have the remnants of the troop seats that I got from you minus 2 slats. Do you want them for this project?
Which fire Department did this Deuce come from?
I lock the engine stop cable in the stop position.
I took a piece of 1/8" X 1" flat bar and bent it into a "U" shape then drilled 2 holes through in for a trailer tongue lock.
I painted it red so its visible from outside the vehicle.
So I've been spending my spare time working on getting everything cleaned up on this trailer.
Here are some pictures of the progress.
The trailer has a new name, the "Man Cave" due to the addition of an electric heater, docking station for the laptop, stereo equipment and a Apartment sized...
You may have to crack open the injector lines at the injector to bleed out the air from there, I seem to recall having to do that to mine after I changed the filters.
Yes Scott, that's what I was thinking, there are a few little things I want to take care of before the event just gotta wait for some drier weather. LOL
I picked up one of the 400hz machines probably during that same event. I like the idea of a solid top on the dog house since the piano hinges don't keep the water out of the generator. I'm thinking of adding a rubber strip on the exterior of the hinge to help keep the rain out.
I ended up...
You are correct, that is a standard enclosure that works for both machines.
You'll have to look at the nameplate on the generator itself to verify what you're getting.
I know from experience! :cookoo:
Beerslayer I feel your pain. LOL I picked up a MEP113a out of JBLM last summer, was the high bidder when I realized that I had won a 400HZ boat anchor.
Anyhow, Got it home got all the missing filters replaced, fresh fluids back in it, crossed my fingers and hit the start switch. The...
Some more numbers on this conversion.
According to this post,
By following some HP to KW calculations I found on the Generator supplier's website, a 47 HP engine is capable of generating:
100% load: 116.91 Amps or 28KW.
80% load: 93.53 Amps or 22.4KW
These Numbers follow what The...
The following information pertains to the MEP113a to MEP004 15KW generators.
Yes I did swap it out, I couldn't find a used head locally so i went with a Marathon model # 361CSL1602 for a SAE 2 bell housing with SAE DDC 15.5 coupling.

Yet another update, I'm into hour #30 of now power, the converted MEP113 is purring along providing all the power i could ever need. It's really rough when you have to leave the top off the hot tub during a winter storm to provide additional load for the genrator.
A great shout out to...
