I have ministering to the 915's wounds since she arrived here a few days ago.
I have replaced the fuel filter, ignition switch, windshield wiper blades, and rear tail lights/turn signals.
I am waiting for an air tank so I can test the air system and see if the brakes will release.
The...
Calling all Steelsoldiers out toward OKC.....I have some boxes at Oklahoma City Auctions that need to be at the GA rally by the 24th.
The items are all on one pallet (I think) and should not take up a lot of room.
Said equipment is a Public Address System that I would like to have set up at the...
Clinto has cleared it with our host (Durhamtown Plantation) for us to serve food to SS members at the rally.
Mike from SC is bringing his MKT so we will have a clean food prep area.
Before I get wrapped around the axle on this I need input from those attending as to whether it is wanted or...
While at the GA MPVA rally last weekend Clinto and I spoke to a few of the vendors that came out with their wares.
They were cordially invited to attend the GA Steelsoldiers rally in October.
If you are a MV vendor, fabricator or have items of interest to the faithful contact Clinto or...
Well, I finally got the 816 to fire off today (after several days of rain and mechanical SNAFU's).
It still sounds like it is mixing concrete due to the valve it dropped when the engine ran away.
Tomorrow I will take it on a leisurely ride to the diesel doctor who...
Last week I went to Redstone to check out the M915 I scored.
It is intact and in decent physical condition.
The most obvious problem is that one of the air tanks had been removed and was inside the cab.
Closer examination revealed that the tank was riddled with pinholes.
Does any have...
I have just been given a ceramic kiln that was taking up space in a friends shop.
Could it be used to bake small powder coated metal items?
Minimum temp is around 1000 degrees.
Is that too hot???
Might be some way to adjust it lower.
Any ideas???
I've made two recovery trips in the deuce tractor and it seems like it has more top end than a regular deuce.
At 2400 RPM I am running (according to the speedo) over 60 MPH......since the engine is turned up to 2800 it would seem that my top speed would be close to 70.
Any ideas or comments?
I...
I made it up to Redstone today to recover my M195 Expando Trailer.
Murphy must have been preoccupied since I had zero problems with the pick up or the ride back home.
It is a heavy bastage and the little M275 tractor earned it's pay pulling it back.
On one hill I was in Low Range 2nd gear to get...
Late yesterday (July 29th) Capt. and Woody rolled into my driveway (with only minor damage to infastructure and livestock) loaded with more of my MV hoard.
They delivered "Hank the Tank" my M49 fuel truck, my diesel fired shower unit and FreightTrains' tug tractor (of all his stuff out there I...
There is a big offroad park near me and I know the owner well.
They are going to have a big rock crawler rally there Labor Day weekend.
It is in the mountains of NE ALa.
I have offered to let them use my expando trailer van for the weekend.
This would be a great opportunity to have a small...
A customer of mine has an Army air compressor with a Teledyne 4 banger on it. It has the rope starter on it and he would like to put an electric one on it.
Can anyone direct me to a source for the kit.
I remember my old unit at Benning had a similar compressor with electric starter.
The old guy...
I am leaving tonight to go to Columbus, Ohio to pick up some NOS fuel tanks I bought a while back.
I am also going to try to pickup some items I bought today if the invoice will come through.
My appointment is at 1130 so if anyone needs anything picked up that is coming down I-75/I-59 give me a...
I may be able to bring a HEMMET cab to the LA rally if the seller will allow it.
Is there anyone attending the rally that is seriously interested in buying one.
I dont have pics yet but I saw them when I was at the GL site that sold them.
They are mostly complete......steering wheel and gear box...
Well it,'s not mine, and it sure ain't a toy, but the Warrior Patriot Resources organization just got this neat Landoll trailer. I might even get to pull it once and awhile.
It will be put to work immediatly transporting vehicles and goods througout the country. It will be based out of...
I was perusing a GL auction and saw some new in the box 55 gallon fuel tanks on the block.
I managed to win them and then remembered I sold the 5 ton multi-fuel.
They are up for sale and would make great replacements for those old rusted out or dented tanks that are uglying up your pride and...
The organization I work for bought the machine shop 5 ton out in Fort Bliss a while back. The EUC has cleared and we need to pick it up.
The problem is that Bliss is an unmanned GL site and everytime we have a truck out there there is no GL person there.
We need someone to pick it up for us and...
I have an AC/heat rack mount that I need to get to a fellow member up in PA.
It is bulky but not too heavy (made of aluminum).
If anyone is headed to Aberdeen leaving from nearby I can get it to you.
We need the "Steelsoldiers Freightline" on this one.
Thanks
