They're also called "Oh $hit bars", because you in veritably say "Oh $hit" right before you grab ahold of it when you hit that first big unexpected bump...
Start by checking the fluid, more than likely there is none. Next step is tracking down the leak. A power bleeder makes tracking down leaks much easier because it removes the need for Soldier B (second person). The power bleeder also makes bleeding the brakes infinitely easier. Start there...
So my M932A2's fuel system has had a problem holding its prime, since I picked it up from GL a year ago. Lately the problem has gotten progressively worse, to the point that the fuel system will lose its prime after just a few minutes. I pressurized the fuel tanks, using the old valve stem in...
M923 and M925 are the same truck, except that the M925 has a hydraulic winch. Due to this fact the M925 is the easier truck to convert to a dump bed, down the road. Bigger choice is A1 or A2 and that will depend on your personal preferences...
You hear the pop and feel it shake, when driving straight. Is this after coming out of a turn? After it shakes and pops does it ride normal, for the duration of your straightaway driving?
Yes. One outlet connects to the double check valve. The other outlet connects to the air stack and allows for the venting of air, though the stack, when you engage the parking brake.
It was in fact the quick release valve causing all the problems. In retrospect the first clue should have been the lack of air escaping through the air stack (farting) when I engaged the parking brake. The more I work on my M932 the more I like my M813.....
Air Brake QR-1 Quick Release Valve...
So I removed the vent line on the control directional linear valve, on top of the parking brake lever. According to the TM once the parking brake lever is released air should come out of this vent line. As no air is coming out of the vent line the TM says to replace the quick release valve. I...
No luck with the brake pedal trick plus I replaced the treadle valve and pedal with a unit from a working truck.
I checked for air coming from the brake chamber vent lines, with the spring brake release control valve in, and the was none. The air was still leaking into the stack though.
So I unhooked all the vent lines, from the four rear spring brake chambers and no air was leaking from any of the fittings. In the attached picture the bottom line is the supply and the others are vent lines, best I can tell from the TM pictures. I think that removes them as the causes of the...
