So I'm getting air leaking into the air intake stack but it's when the parking brake is released, not when the parking brake is applied (as indicated in the TM). This is causing the primary and secondary air systems to bleed down. When I activate the parking brake the leaking stops and air...
Yes. People have been known to place an air compressor in the bed and run air hoses to the glad hand, to move the trucks in a pinch. Just charging the system, off the glad hand, will get you about 5 (plus or minus) applications off the brakes.
The trouble restarting after sitting for three days is because you're losing your prime. This is most likely caused by some sort of leak in the fuel system. Best bet is apply low amounts of air pressure to the fuel system (best accomplished by pressurizing fuel tank) and check for fuel...
That's the area the air compressor is located. Get a spray bottle of soapy water and begin spraying the lines, you'll see the line begin to bubble quickly if you can hear it leaking. Happy hunting....
Charge the air system, via the blue service glad hand. If you hear no leaks checks the outlet line of the air compressor, while the trucks running. It should be around 300 degrees, after a few minutes of the truck running. If the outlet line is just warm to the touch, and not hot, than it's a...
Are you talking about the small bolt on the bottom of the plactic expello valve? If so it doesn't tighten or loosen anything. The plactic expello valve slides in and out, as needed, to purge excess air pressure on the air dryer. They have a tendancy to stick open and leak off all the air...

This post covers your issue and also has diagrams, pictures, and part numbers.
Take some pics of what you've got. I have a IBIS Tek towbar and the older style tow bar as well. If I remember correctly the original IBIS Tek tow bar feet are not 1" and therefore will not fit a 5 ton, without modification. To "fix" this I utilized the old style 1" medium tow bar feet and...
I'm using M35 front springs to bob an old M813. My question is, what do you do for spring perches?
The M35 spring perch obviously isn't big enough to fit on the 5 ton axle so I'm thinking of using 5 ton perches but then I run into the issue that the M35 spring is 2.5" whereas the 5 ton...
Having an "air pig" or extra hand carried air tank allows for the extended operation of air tools. You'll find the air tanks on the military trucks don't have much volume. There's a couple threads in the Duece section about making "air pigs".
